Weird. Maybe they're faulty. Although there's not much you can do if they're out of warranty. I guess maybe you could wait for them to drift and then hope that the repair replaces them?
Is it quite an old pair? Batteries degrade over time, especially quickly if they're often kept fully charged like joycons. Not sure why the right one wouldn't have the same issue though, especially since it likely consumes more power
I guess nipple% and this could be one category and this could be a different subcategory. Although I guess that would mean nipple% would need sub sub categories which I don't think speedrun.com has?
Does that mean you have to sync the audio if you record it separately? Wouldn't that make it invalid if you did it wrong?
Maybe but that's true for a lot of category extensions. Guess it depends if it's still being run
Would that also mean it's also minimum captures? Or would throws to capture not count?
Would that be 1 player?
Wonder how postgame nipple% would work, although that might be less interesting than normal nipple%. Probably faster though
I think it's because the camera gets stuck otherwise and the star has to be on screen to be collected
Huh, do they reduce cap stalling at all?
ah ok. Do take slightly longer then but have the same amount of height gain per second?
Do rainbow twirls give you any height or do they just delay your falling?
Do upthrows provide more height midair? Noticed they're often used for extra height. Or do they not get cancelled on touching a wall?
Are you able to do a ground pound jump on the icicle instead of a backflip? Doesn't that give slightly more height?
Huh, didn't think splitters worked with game consoles. Or is it just some?
@cyndifusic hmm, it's been acceptable so far but it is a little janky. The audio drift doesn't seem to be an issue with device timestamps enabled though
You can get some pretty cheap generic capture cards on Amazon for about $12-15, the downsides are that they usually have a fair bit of latency (around 0.15s at 720p60 and 0.3s at 1080p) and that they can only do 1080p30 or 720p60. (assuming the one I got is typical). You'll also need a spare HDMI cable though for the passthrough which they don't include.
Though not ideal, I've seen a few runs where they just use a camera recording the monitor. It's not ideal and the video and audio will have to be fairly clear but it's probably not too much of an issue until you get close to the world record.
