Also at the end of the loading screen Slave loads in before the collision does, that's why the save clip is possible.
For the first clip to work you need to be partially out of bounds like shown in the video so it doesn't have anything to do with standing on a slope. It can even be performed mid air.
For the unload I have no idea why that happens all I know that it somehow messes with game's memory. I'm gonna do some more tests to see if I can replicate it in an another location.
Forgot to mention but you have to move in the direction of your destination during the loading screen when doing the first clip.
Okay so I've been doing some glitch hunting and when I was playing around with the possibility of clipping using saves I found this:
The first type of save clipping is pretty simple but with the second one I have no idea how or why it works. I tested some of my theories and I came out empty handed.
For some reason when you got out of bounds using the second type of clipping you can load your character back in when you go into certain areas, which most of the time will end up in falling into abyss and dying.
Okay so I came up with an explanation for why the lap skip works. Around the finish line (and on it) the game checks if the player drove over the 2 spots that are needed to complete a lap. So what happened is that after I warped up the wall I was so high in the air that I wasn't in the area where the game checks if a lap can be completed so when I drove over the finish line the game didn't know what to do so it just decided to complete it. So I figured that the lap skip might be possible without doing the warp up the wall.
Because of the fact that the ai is more advanced in 1.0 the player isn't in the first place all the time which allows for more mushrooms to be farmed. Of course the advanced ai has its drawbacks for example it's really easy for the other racers to snipe the player with a shell or a bomb which would lose time but this can be avoided if you get good enough rng. So please if anyone still has a 1.0 copy of BCSK upload it here in this thread.
This skip works because on every track there are 2 spots that the player needs to drive over for the game to allow a lap to be completed.
Alright so I checked if this skip works on the 2 other tracks and it does! I also found out that this skip can be done on every lap.
Okay so while I was fooling around on the desert track I found a skip that can save 3 seconds maybe even 4. I managed to get a time of 2:26 with it
So a few months after BCSK released I found a gamebreaking glitch that can save multiple minutes off the wr run. The glitch is question allowes the player to possibly skip lapses on any of tracks in the game. I got this glitch exactly one time and I wasn't able to recreate it since, it doesn't help I didn't get it recorded as well so I'm gonna try to explain it as best as I can.
So to execute the glitch you first need to pick up a muchroom and use it right before doing the following (I'm not sure from what angle it has be done) : https://gyazo.com/c43dcb70ce3f5256449afff6f20e9447
I might have misremembered some things because of how long ago I discovered it but I'm 100% sure this glitch exists.
I'm gonna try to recreate it. I'll keep you updated here on this thread
This god gamer of a streamer is routing the blindfolded run for Sinister Squidward: https://www.twitch.tv/loogagoon
Go check it out!
Btw did the first stage go through some major changes in the full game? If it did I recommend you add a seperate category for the demo
- IL runs should be valid only when selected from the level selector
- IL runs should use the in game timer
Could you please add the first stage to the individual levels leaderboard? Also there isn't really a difference between 'Casual' and 'Normal' so I recommend you change it to Any% and 'Nightmare' to Any% Nightmare.
The man the myth the legend did it again so mods please add a blindfolded category.
LooGagoon's blindfolded run:
The if everyone can use it it's not cheating argument is just wrong. Here's another example if everyone can splice runs does that mean that mods should allow them on the leaderboards? The short anwser is no
Okay but you don't hate to allow cheating because the run is harder for you and you can just use both hands so you'll still have good mashing and your hands won't be in so much pain. Btw what's your condition?
