While fixing the leaderboards, we had to reset the runs as well. You can resubmit all your runs to the leaderboard to get your position back. Also thank you for the new timing rule, I hope to use this in the future.
This is in a way building on 4d9r's thread, but I wanted to share some of my ideas.
Quests
First of all, for the quest leaderboards, we can have 5, 10, 25, 50, and all quests for the classic, crossroads, and fall map, which seems to be coming to portals soon. I still think there should be no perk and perk versions for all of these categories.
Races
Next for the race, split it up into the winter, crossroads, and classic map, and I also think there should be a no perk category for all of the races, alike the quests. To time the race, the best method is slowing down a recording and finding the last frame the mid-race timer is open, as the endgame timer is broken and shows the incorrect time, sometimes even showing negative numbers.
These changes would add more clarity to the Marble Mania speedrun leaderboards, as right now, there is some chaos, having some runs in wrong places and categories crossing over.
I agree with this for the current state of the game, but with the new portals update estimated to come out in the next 2 weeks, it will be possible for all runs to be optimized. For example the fastest possible time is in an older map, soon anybody can do that. Even after that update, I think there should be categories for full old map completion, full new map completion, and 100% run. I think the 5, 10, 25, and 50 quest runs should all stay the same though. I think the race should also be rearranged into new and old races, along with using the accurate mid-race timer instead of the broken end race timer.
edit: besides for the event and multi lap races, which are exclusive to old maps, the only quest world record that is stuck in old map is 85 no perk, as all the others are achievable on the new map.
