Why was F12 forbidden? It seems contradictory to the definition of Any%, considering that it was a game mechanic in the Standard edition game. And whilst I'm interested in running the game, it seems far too tedious to do it without being able to speed up the long waiting periods as we normally do in casual playthroughs.
I've noticed that there are hardly any full-game runs, perhaps because they are too long for people to want to run, so maybe allowing the F12 mechanic would improve that?
Hello, There Were Not A Lot Of People Who Were Fans Of F12 When It Was First Introduced And Now It Is Only Allowed In The Settlers - Rise Of An Empire. I Think That Changing It Will Not Make A Lot Of People Wanting To Do Any% (I Think The Single Level Format Is The Best For This Kind Of Game). If Our Community Would Like To Change Or Introduced New Rules I Am Always Happy To Talk About Those Topics, But Do Not Want To Force It Like I Did Back In The Days In Arma Community Or When I Did It When This Game Was Added On SPEEDRUN.COM. Also Diffrent Game Editions Share The Same Leadarboard So Chainging It Would Make A Lot Of Chaos And Community Would Be Seperated. We Do Not Want That Beacuse This Community Is Very Small, But In The Futre, I Do Not Know A Lot Can Change. If You Have Any Further Questions, Feel Free To Ask. Regards, Matthew

Ok, to me it still seems a bit anti-speedrun to remove a game mechanic which speeds things up, but I can understand if people are already invested in level runs without it and don't want to change.
But since nobody seems interested in running the full-game campaigns under the current rules, and it takes a long time to run without F12, couldn't it be considered to allow it at least for the full-game categories?
Personally I'm not too interested in level-runs, I find full-game runs more enjoyable. And I'd be interested to run, but without F12 it seems like it would be too much unnecessary waiting.
