Populating WR History

As there's 7 years unaccounted for between my run and the game's release, I'd like to leave the idea here, to do some casual searching on YouTube and Google, to find the recorded and evidenced speedruns of The Swindle that existed before the leaderboard did.

And to submit those players' times on their behalf, to flush out the verifiable History of the run.

On the Clustertruck leaderboards I moderate, we have a Chrome extension that allows super-easy RTA timing, accurate to the frame / millisecond. And the developer just updated it after years. That plugin would make collecting the runs and timings as painless as possible. And it'll make verifying the timing of future submissions a 3-click process.

If your interested, @TalenLee, here's the public invite to the server. Check out the latest pinned posts in the #development channel and look for "videoTimer_v1.1.0.zip" by one of our moderators, @noah. There's instructions for install and use attached to the download.

Huh, interesting.

Me, I just verify runs by watching the run, seeing if there's a problem, I hadn't considered 'recruiting' people to the table who didn't necessarily want to be there?

Recruitment? No, no.

As a moderator, you can submit runs to the board on behalf of Unregistered players, without needing to go knocking on doors asking if they want to join SRC and submit their run -- if that's what you're thinking.

That said, it seems like we've already lost most of the speedrun's history. I can't find the runs I remember pulling up easily before. The 55m 30s I was running against back then has disappeared from the YouTube search results. And the only potentially valid run I find on YouTube now is a 2+ hour deathless by essentialatom from 2020.

There's another 2h run there by UTUB2kholle, but the description for it says it's missing a chunk of video, so that isn't verifiable. I also find Dan Marshall linking to a 1h 16m run on Twitter as early as 2016. But the run is gone, along with the runner's channel...

Damn.

Yeah, I think the window closed on this one. I think it's a bummer because I legitimately was waiting for someone else to do it. I always assumed other, better players and speedrunners were doing it.
