This may appear to be the first 2x time, but it is not. For about 3 years, FunkMasterZero technically was the World Record holder at 29.800. With the strat he came up with, and I ran with into 2nd place (and ultimately interim World Record for the last 3 years), FunkMasterZero had the gold from the perspective of a small number of us in the know. But since he erased his existence from the internet not too long after, my 30.900 stood as the de facto World Record.

I returned to some games recently and showed HeartPrestige how to play Bean Ball when I visited him the previous week. This gave me the urge to take another crack at it. We pushed the de facto World Record down to 30.2 a few days prior to this. We then took only 3 minutes to get this run in this session. Because of the absolute shock, I chose to provide the whole video. The run is 5697.

It went like it had been going recently. The team tucking into the corner. And yet something always going wrong. Not on this run though. John got away early so I knew he'd take an extra shot. But then he got hit early on the left, which allowed him to escape quickly (he did not in the 30.2, which slowed it down). I threw a power shot, then figured I'd throw another. But since he was up in the air, that wasn't possible. So I took a crack at a backwards power shot and the rest is history.

FunkMasterZero, you were someone I considered a good luck charm whenever you came by the stream. Good things happened when you were around. I always considered you the World Record holder here. Thank you for innovating the strats, and helping me get here today. Cheers man!
