So as no one has done any runs of this I guess I'll lay down some ground rules

  1. Start timer once you enter 1-1
  2. split whenever you see dead or not dead show up or finish a level
  3. end split is when rapture shows up
  4. any glitch you can find is fine (quick kills etc...)
  5. As I am not a moderator I can't say this is required but splits would be nice
  6. All levels must be complete Below you will see the splits I am using and I would encourage any one to use them as well 1-1 1-2 1-3 1-4 1-5 1-6 1-7 1-8 1-9 Bull-Y 2-1 2-2 2-3 2-4 2-5 2-6 2-7 2-8 2-8 2-9 It's a wolf ok 3-1 3-2 3-3 3-4 3-5 3-6 3-7 3-8 3-9 Snowman 4-1 4-2 4-3 4-4 4-5 4-6 4-7 4-8 4-9 4-10 Rapture

People so far have just been using standard timing; starting time as they click the speedrun mode button (which you definitely should run as story mode adds nothing and makes resets a hassle) and stopping at the last meaningful input (meaning last sword hit on the devil). Ivyiss might have timed it differently, but I have not watched the run. Splits are nice but never required for any game.

Ivyiss is so far the only one who has done a remotely legit run of this game. No idea how optimized the run is but it should probably be a decent starting point.

The rest of us just fucked around and abused the dev tool that was left in, presumably by accident, that let you right click to teleport anywhere and left click to skip 2 phases of the second boss, J.C..

i feel as though you should have to true reset every time you want to start a new run (see undertale). where you go is AppData\Local and delete the "squishy" folder. this will reset the game completely like the first time you open it. then you start your splits when you you choose "story mode". so the run will include the training level as well. but it makes the most sense. just saying idk

I did not see a point in making a third category for the speed run mode specifically with quick kills so I felt like it would be better to run story mode any% with quick kills glitches etc and leave speed run mode glitch-less and right click. As for timing if it were last meaningful input I feel like you may forget in the heat of things which is why I liked the more calmed down point of using the rapture text. and about removing the data every time you want a new run, it seems really counter intuitive because practice would be such a hassle say if I want to practice the devil fight.
