SethBling's 0 Exit asar patch

Hi! I've been trying to learn 0 exit, and have been using SethBling's beginners document, but I cannot get the asar patch to work. When patching it to a clean smw rom, it works fine except after the "Nintendo Presents" screen, the sound continues playing but the screen stays black. As in, I can hear the title screen music, but I cannot press anything, it doesnt open up to the actual title screen, it just stays black. Has this happened to anyone else? Any help? Thanks!

UPDATE: I have seen the guidelines for the asar patch, as I realised SethBling said to use the Japanese rom and also Asar 1.37. I was using a Europe clean smw rom and it didn't work, so I tried Seth's requirements and this time it opened normally to the title screen except Mario was all glitched out. Honestly, it looked like he was going through powerup incrementation stages, he was changing colours and glitching all over the place. When opening to the "welcome to dinosaur land" cutscene, it doesn't display the text box, you can run around with glitched out mario, and when the music finishes playing, you can just keep running around and you're essentially softlocked. If you have a file already open, then when opening a level the game crashes.

tl;dr: even when using the japanese rom and asar 1.37 the patch does some wonky stuff to the game.

If anyone could help that would be much appreciated! I am happy to do a video of what it looks like! Sorry for the long post!

I have these same issues. However, this is not the issue of the community itself, as it was a patch created by Sethbling, so you should try and ask him on twitter.

I don’t have a Twitter account, but I will try and contact him another way.

I know Seathorne had the same issue. I can't remember how he fixed it but I have a rom that works, if you want to message me on discord I'd be happy to send you my rom

It doesn't matter anymore, I contacted Seth directly and fixed the problem.

Fair enough. Out of curiosity, what was the problem?

He doesn't actually know, he just sent me a copy of the patched rom.
