Survive the First Attack Possible Cheese

On my playthrough of resident evil so far, I can across the first attack from the monsters. You must survive for 3-4 minutes and avoid the hammer guy while you do. While running out of the shotgun house (where you pick it up and go down the ladder and exit) and up to the next one with roof access, I noticed something about it. While inside if you shut the door with the barricade and move to the window on the right when you enter, there seems to be a little cheese strat. If you make the monsters leave the front door by shooting from a distance, and stand by the window area, they will never attack the main door. You can keep knifing them at the window when they try and get it and no ammo is used. I did it on my stream and will post a link for YouTube video when I get it clipped for everyone. It will be more straight forward! Hope this helps!

@AFKgoochy I apologize in advance for my English (I wrote it as best I could). I noticed one thing, after we had the maximum difficulty, I ran at the starting location, got to the house with a barrel, heard that a man with a hammer broke through the dam, I jumped from the roof and ran to the river, got hit from the hammer (blocking the blow) and immediately skipped got a cutscene without an arrow hitting the knee. try it

You can actually do a similar thing on the roof. Whilst doing a knife only run, I went through the shotgun house, barricaded the second one, climbed up on the roof and sat on the edge toward the first house. Whenever an enemy jumped up you can slash them once and they fall down, it worked for nearly the whole 4 minutes if you're close enough to the edge of the roof the lycans wont jump up the other side. One eventually jumped up behind me for some reason but it seemed to do good.

I just did the strat 1st try on Hardcore, then continued labbing it and it seems to only work with the big guy spawned, but even then sometimes it doesn't work and enemies get through the front door after big guy breaks it. So it seems RNG Based. I've also been trying it on Village of Shadows with big guy spawned, and without him spawned, and it doesn't seem to work on VoS Difficulty at all.

I just ran it hardcore mode and I got the big guy in a spot were he does not hit the door but swings at it. Worked without the hammer guy spawning first. I'll try and upload video if it working

When I was doing my NG+ Village of shadows run i managed to be able to survive the encounter by running out of the first house after killing about 4 to 6 of them into the house with the ladder to the underneath part and baracading myself in there. The only real way in was through the front door and the big guy had no way of coming up the smaller stairs so was just stuck outside. After a while a random lycan grabs you into the animation and throws you from inside of the house into the river.

It was tried a couple times but it seemed pretty reliable and can be setup pretty fast from the start of the encounter.

to note though the NG+ did allow me to have infinite ammo which obviously helped but I'm going to try looking at it again in a casual new run and seeing If i can somehow cheese that one door.

Can confirm the window strat. I am practicing NG village of shadows runs and it does appear to bug them out when they get off the door and you stick near the window. For me I managed to stay in the first house until big hammer guy came.

Ran out of the basement exit to second house and barricaded. Once the hammer bro reached the door and I shot the lycan off it, they just stayed at the window and repeatedly tried jumping into it. Hammer bro can't break the barricade, and he seems to block half the door so only 1 lycan can get near it...might have something to do with it.

For anyone using shotty, definitely avoid that. You want to rely on the handgun for delaying and save the shotty rounds.
