[00] Introduction to the Guides [PLEASE READ]

Hey!

Welcome to the Raise a Floppa speedrun guides! Although I don't know why you are here, I do know that you want help with understanding the game and these guides are designed just to do that!

Now, there is a SPECIFIC ORDER you are supposed to read the guides in that allow you to figure out some things on your own and also learn from the bottom up. The order is dictated by the numbering system. The first number of the system dictates the skill level of the set while the second number just shows which number of the set the guide is. Lets take the number [12]. The 1 in the front shows that it is a intermediate level guide and that 2 shows that it is the 2nd number in the guide.

The ORDER you are supposed to read them in is to start with the 0 series (especially [01] General Route) and work your way up series by series. It does not matter which order in the series you read them however, any order works.

How do you know when you are supposed to move on? You can just move along when you feel that you are ready to or if you're just bored to.

I really worked hard to make sure these guides would provide a sense of understanding, almost like a math course, but I actually don't mind you skipping ahead. After all, we speedrun for fun!

[01] General Route for any%/$10(0),000

The route in this game is one of the most important parts of a run and is in fact one of the first things one should understand before going into a run. The optimal route for any% is:

Grilled Cheese ($50)
Mac n' Cheese ($75)
Cool Hat ($250)
Ms. Floppa ($500)
Scratching Post ($75)
Bake Cake ($175)
Milk Dish ($500)
The Homie Sogga ($2500)
Catnip ($5000)
Baby Bowl/Neko Maid ($1500)
Poop Fertilizer ($10,000)
Jinx ($100,000)
Bingus ($1500)*
Neko Maid 2.0 ($5000)
Popcat ($500,000)
Grumpy Cat ($3,000,000)
Altar ($500 + $33,554,000)

Note: $100,000 is the same route up to Fertilizer and instead of Jinx the run just ends at $100,000. For $10,000, everything up to fertilizer is the same except you don't buy catnip, neko maid, or baby bowl and the run ends at $10,000 instead of fertilizer.

• Bingus can be bought anytime after you get autoclicker, but is most optimal to buy as soon as you unlock outside and have autoclicker.

IMPORTANT THINGS TO REMEMBER DURING A RUN:
1. Always fill up the milk bowl. It has the second highest bonus in the game behind catnip.
2. Make sure Floppa is above 100% happiness at all times for the 2x multiplier.
3. Make sure, at least before you go outside, that you are collecting the fertilizer and fertilizing the catnip.
4. Make sure you feed the fish while Floppa is high to get 4x more money.
5. DONT BUY CAT BED.

[10] Basics of the Floppa Cycle

General Cycle:

Before getting in depth, there is a couple things to understand about Floppa's idling. He has set places where he can go and every once in a while he chooses a random place to go and walks there. After he reaches his destination, he waits a while and the game runs a check. If there is no actions (eating, drinking, sleeping, scratching, getting high, etc.) to do, he picks another random spot to walk to and goes over there.

What takes priority during these checks is eating. If Floppa is hungry enough (yellow hunger which is 49 hunger or less) he will walk over to the food bowl. This is where his cycle starts.

After eating Floppa will drink out of the milk bowl (if he has milk) and then take a dump. After the poop, Floppa will use the scratching post then eat catnip. Of course if one of them is not available he will choose the other. After one of those actions he will choose the unused action and then go to sleep in the cat bed. When all actions are completed, he will return to his idling phase.

Essentially, without any interruptions and ignoring the nuisances, the cycle is:

Eat -> Milk -> Poop -> Scratching Post -> Catnip -> Bed -> Idle -> Eat

What is interesting is that during his idling phase, if milk is put in the bowl or if the catnip is grown the check will still allow him to go there (given he won't be hungry). Also, if an action is finished and Floppa is hungry, it does not matter if the other ones in his cycle aren't done he will go eat. Eating will always be the top priority.

[11] How to Properly Cycle Floppa

This guide is perhaps one of the most important guides not only in matter of getting fast times, but also because it turns the game from a frustrating, seemingly luck based run into a stressful, exciting battle against the unfair luck in this game.

As explained in [10] Basics of the Floppa Cycle, Floppa's cycle restarts every time he eats and follows a path that includes the milk dish, scratching post, and catnip. The milk dish gives base $100, scratching post gives base $30, and catnip gives a random base bonus from $500-$1200 (although the scratching post and catnip don't happen every cycle). That means, in a full cycle, you make $630-$1330 + the 4x boost from the catnip for 60 seconds. With multipliers, that can go all the way up to $16M per cycle!

As a result, it is super important to cycle Floppa as fast as possible in order to get more cycles and therefore more cash. The way to do that is to take inspiration from Monster% and make Floppa run a check  (see [10] for what a check is) right as he turns hungry. This can be done through petting Floppa while he is moving to delay his arrival to his destination and as a result delay the check to be in time with him being hungry. In the below clip, I pet Floppa before he reaches the milk bowl so that when he drinks the milk, he is hungry and eats immediately after.

[12] Advanced Movements

Raise a Floppa is a game that is just filled with luck, so any little thing that can be done in a run to save time an help minimize the effects of this luck. These movements save little time by themselves, but over the course of the run they can save 1-2 minutes and push you just that little closer to the world record.

Fast Hook:

A fishing technique that utilizes the physics of the grappling hook and the built in movement of Roblox to save time fishing. To do that technique, make sure your character's right arm is down to the side, then you select the fishing hook and click immediately after. What should happen is the hook, instead of going out, goes straight down and hits the water really early.

Hook Pushing:

A really weird technique. By using the extension of the hook, you are able to push yourself super far. Start next to a solid wall, then jump and after jumping use the hook. The hook should hook into the wall and push you away from it. In the below clip, I hold to the left so the hook pushes me to the left. It also works to the right.

[20] Nuisances of the Floppa Cycle

How Floppa moves is both quite interesting and also decently simple as shown in [02] Basics of the Floppa Cycle. However, as the game gets more complex and as you read through [12] How to Properly Cycle Floppa, understanding the nuisances of the cycle will help to understand why some things happen and why some techniques work.

The main thing you may have noticed during your runs is that despite starting a new cycle, Floppa will not follow the path he is supposed to. Although, with some idling in there, it is supposed to be:

Eat -> Milk -> Poop -> Scratching Post -> Catnip -> Eat
(Cat bed is ignored since it is not used in runs)

sometimes it will switch around or some parts will be skipped completely and, along with other variations, form something like this:

Eat -> Milk -> Poop -> Catnip -> Scratching Post -> Eat

The main reason why this happens is that when any action is completed (exceptions being eating, drinking milk, and pooping), a timer starts and during this time the action can not be done again. So if catnip is eaten, for example, and then Floppa goes to eat food, the timer will prevent him from eating catnip again in his next cycle unless you can stall Floppa long enough for the timer to pass and make Floppa eat catnip in the cycle.

There is one way to bypass this timer. You can use a technique known as "recycling" in which after Floppa is done what you want him to do (usually eat the catnip) you can close the game and reopen and he will restart his cycle as if he pooped and all the timers will be reset. It is also the fastest way to make Floppa cycle.
