This run marks the completion of my Red Ball 4 main category sweep, a 600+ hour-long gargantuan odyssey across the twelve main categories. One year ago, I thought this feat to be outright impossible.
I never theorized the possibility of me getting the sweep until I got sub 4 in Vol.3 glitchless. This run was monumental for me and it made me realize that I could break any barrier if I was dedicated enough to the grind. With this mindset, I set my sights on the rest of the world records. I was very paranoid about an anti-sweep alliance forming against me as they have with other runners, so I routed my world record conquest in such a way to keep sweep suspicion at a minimum. Going into Vol.1 any%, I expected Maximum, Lombre, and many other Red Ball 4 players to stand against my sweep efforts.
Instead of being met with opposition, however, I was met with overwhelming support. So many of you joined me in VC along this grind, something for which I am truly grateful. Absolutely massive thanks to anyone who has ever supported me or kept me company in VC across any stretch of my Red Ball 4 journey. You all have turned my goal to play three simple flash games fast into an experience I will never forget.
As for the run, it is mediocre. The attempt before this run I choked an 18:4x because I forgot to get mortal blow, and that run had its own fair share of timelosses. A sub 18 minute time is definitely feasible for this category, but it will require a great run with no real mistakes. With this run, I am officially retiring from being competitive in the Red Ball 4 flash trilogy.
Though the future for these games may seem grim, I think that there is still much more to squeeze out of these categories, so many more barriers to break, and many more stories to tell. We’ve only scratched the surface of optimization with these categories, and there may be much more laying on the horizon. With enough determination, drive, and willpower, there is no human limit.
