I'm assuming that the leaderboards for this game are largely based on the original Prime's leaderboards, so I understand why this category doesn't already exist, but would it be a possibility to add it? For people like me who are just getting into Prime through this game all the out of bounds movement and stuff is REALLY daunting, so having a separate NMG leaderboard where we can still be competitive whilst learning the ins and outs of this game's mechanics would be awesome!

This conversation just happened on the discord actually. So good timing. We just added a toggle for inbounds/unrestricted to both keep the leaderboard as one while letting people compare by how they run.

What about 100%?

Oh awesome! That's great to hear! I'm definitely looking forward to learning to run this game, I've been having a great time so far!

Having whatever is in Any% apply to 100% would be ideal. That said, having Inbounds be a sub-category would be best (see the Dread leaderboards). That would allow people to submit runs for both Unrestricted and Inbounds for something like Any%, and the Spreedrun.com UI makes it easier to see and compare the two separate leaderboards if it's a sub-category over a filter, which aren't actually separate runs at all.

I brought these points up to the mods in the Discord, and the general consensus was that if an Unrestricted/Inbounds sub-category split is going to happen at all, people need to be submitting runs for Inbounds, and then submitting follow-up runs that improve their time over time to be considered an "active runner". The more active runners running Inbounds, the greater the chance we get a sub-category leaderboard. Having the filter now is good because it allows us to see who all is doing this, so the best thing everyone reading this can do to make this happen is to keep submitting Inbounds runs, for both Any% and 100% if you'd like to see it there too.

Awesome, Elias. Thanks for considering my point there. I consider myself an active inbounds runner and will continue submitting inbounds runs. I acknowledge that unrestricted has a much higher skill ceiling and is therefore more impressive, so if a universal distinction cannot be made, it's not really a big deal. However, having a distinction between the two in Any% alone doesn't seem fair to me by principle.
