I actually have no clue about this category since iirc NinjasInCarpets created this one (and the linked list is no longer available, but I state that in the category rules as well, so /shrug)

BUT if you don't have a capture unit in ur 3ds, you could check http://3ds.guide/ and look if your 3ds is hackable. there's a nifty little thing called NTR for hacked 3ds' that allows to stream video to a pc. (new 3ds only tho)

otherwise like some of the japanese runners on the any% category you can strap a camera onto your 3ds and just record that way.

these 2 options might not look as clean as a capture unit would but they are fine in terms of validating your run.
