Previously used ePSXe and messed with settings?
I recommend clearing what ePSXe put in the registry to start fresh

Setup

Bios

Place SCPH1001.BIN in bios folder

Config > Bios
TURN OFF Enable HLE Bios

Map your controller buttons

Config > GamePads > Port 1 > Pad 1

Adjust graphics

Config > Video
Default settings > Fast (or Nice if your PC can handle that)

Window size
1080p monitor = 1440 x 1080
1440p monitor = 1920 x 1440
