Any%- Character Guide

In the GBA version of "Lego Star Wars: The Original Trilogy", there are a total of 45 playable characters- 36 for normal levels, and 9 vehicles.

 LOADOUT STRUCTURE

For standard play, the loadout usually consists of the following types of characters-
    - Lightsaber/Force user
    - Blaster use
    - Astromech droid
    - Protocol droid
    - Imperial (not necessary)
    - Lando

 CHARACTER META
=================
Below are characters I’d strongly RECOMMEND for running the Any% Category:
- Jedi Knight Luke Skywalker- good for menuing (takes two inputs to select), lightsaber destroys things from a distance
- Padawan Luke Skywalker- not good for menuing (takes four inputs to select), lightsaber destroys things from a distance
- Yoda- decent for menuing (takes three inputs to select), Force Push ability destroys objects through forcefields (useful on Hoth Escape), small hitbox allows him to jump over ledges, forcefields, (useful on Death Star Escape)
- Rebel Trooper- best for menuing, takes one input to select, no special animations
- R2-D2 (used by default)
- C-3PO (used by default)
- Lando- useful for a small cutscene skip on Cloud City Trap

Below are a handful of characters I’d strongly AVOID for running the Any% Category:
- Princess Leia- charge shot animation takes up roughly 35 frames. Probably best to reset if she gets picked, won’t be very good in general
- Han Solo- filler character, not needed. Dodge animation isn’t useful
- Emperor Palpatine- expensive, Force Lightning isn’t good at killing enemies, requires other characters to unlock all canisters in Emperor Fight
- Darth Vader- expensive, requires other characters to unlock all canisters in Cloud City Rescue
- Stormtrooper- filler character, not needed
- Ben Kenobi- Force Confuse isn’t useful, animation freezes player for 90 frames, cape swish animation takes ~63 frames

Any%- Glitches

Death Star Escape
============
- Subsector 3- As Yoda, go to the top-right corner of the force field and jump. Because of his small hitbox, it's possible to jump over and past it without needing to press the button.

Hoth Escape
========
- Echo Base South- By taking the path to the north and using Yoda's Force Push ability on the shield generator, the player can access the hangar sections without completing most of the stage.

Cloud City Trap (minor glitch)
===================
- Cloud City Sector 2- After deactivating the force field as Lando, the player is able to move a little bit while the cutscene is playing.





==SOFTLOCKS==

There are two that can occur on Tatooine. In the first section, if the large wall is quickly destroyed off-screen before it even renders, the cutscene will pan to the space where it used to be (causing the game to freeze). In that same section, if the player doesn't defeat a single Tusken Raider and jumps from the top of the canyon, the small group at the bottom of the canyon won't spawn and the trigger for the next level won't load.

Any%- Improvements

Potential time saves-
- More optimal routing for Trench Run, Hoth Battle, especially Endor Battle, Jabba’s Palace, and Asteroid Chase
- Better RNG during fights- Jabba’s Palace (Rancor cycles), Sarlacc Pit (Boba Fett cycles), Cloud City Rescue (Vader duel), Emperor Fight?
