About that Qualifying run and the rules

The current Qualifying run is only a run of lap 2,3 and 4, instead of a full qualifying run. Driving 4 laps of 45 seconds in 2m19s clearly, you are missing one lap.

This is because the rules are wrong. After you finish a qualifying you immediately start a new qualy, but during the first lap the game will show a finish flag, the green flag will only show when finishing the first lap.

According to the rules of the category the run starts at the appearance of the green flag, but then you are only doing 3/4 of a run.

So change the rule to time starts when starting lap 1 (crossing the startline), time ends when crossing the finishline after lap 4. Or something like that.

The time starts when you spawn in? What’s the issue, you’ve worded it a bit confusingly. Sorry if I don’t understand

Thanks for replying. Ok let me try again. :) If time starts when you spawn in, then the current run is invalid. If you look at the video of the current run, the driver is driving for several minutes and then starts time when the flag turns green again, not on spawn in.

If you take enough fuel you can do multiple qualy runs in one spawn. So you spawn in, do 4 laps. At the end of the 4th lap the game starts timing you immediately for another 4 lap qualy (lap 5-8). However during lap 5 the flag stays as a finish flag and only turns green at the start of lap 6 (2nd lap of 2nd qualyrun).

The current run of 2m19 starts at lap 6 (game calls it lap 2 in video) and finishes at lap 8. So they did not do a full qualy run of 4 laps. (4 laps of ± 40 secs = 2m40s.), nor did they start time at spawn in. So the run is invalid.

The problem is the wording: Timing starts once the green flag is visible on screen for the “qualify” mode.

Maybe clarify to: "Timing starts upon spawn in, once the green flag is visible on screen for the “qualify” mode."

Lap Down Rule Change

If you go a lap or more down, your run will have 1 minute added onto it for every lap you go down. This is to make competition fairer to people who finish all laps and to eliminate intentionally going a lap down. (Speedruns based more on speed and less on rng)
