I wanted to ask what we count as mutators. Are the mutators any changes that you make in game? Or is it anything different then your standard normal goat? Right now it looks like it's anything that you can start with without going into the menu but I wanted to verify
Hey! At this point in time, for the context of leaderboards, the mutator sub category refers to using any special powerups not acquired in the run itself. If you're familiar with other speedruns, see it as running between New Gane and New Game Plus.
The definition of a mutator itself is just a powerup.
Ive added this leaderboard split because it makes sense for Goat Sim on non-mobile. And because I and some others liked it. With this, I'd like to mention that as usual, no rules are set in stone and I'm open for discussions regarding this if needed. Like, I don't play too much mobile, I've set these boards up myself without any input from other players. I'd love cooperation to get the best leaderboards this game can have.
Sweet, that's clears up a lot. I have one more question then, would that mean we are allowed to go and grab abilities while in a run? This could lead to more unique routes and tricks, and based off the rules I'm assuming we can, but I wanna make sure. Edit: When I say grab abilities, I mean intentionally, not the cases where it is forced on you.
Yeah! Unsure if you know the PC runs which are somewhat similar in design, I use mutators in every stage while starting every stage as normal goat. (Exception of PAYDAY, where you start off as Valentino Salami, the flamingoat).
I was looking into mutator stuff more and I noticed that the game gives you some mutators immediately. I know in goat MMO we allow you to use any of the Mutators at the beggining that it gives you, do we want to allow this for other areas? I know in goatville you start off with a few and those could be very useful. However, as they aren't really acquired I don't know if this aligns with the rules. Personally I think they should be allowed to keep it consistent with goat MMO rules or we change the goat MMO rules to only allow normal goat.
The diff between MMO and say, Goatville are that MMO puts them in your face. However, I'm up for discussion whether to allow the already unlocked ones or not.
The reason it is how it is now, is that in Goat Sim on PC, there is a menu that allows you to preload, which in my head is synonymous with the switching here on mobile. HOWEVER, the big difference is that on PC, (and all other platforms), things stack. So you can have Uncle Goat, stinky goat and minecraft goat at the same time, whereas here that's not a thing.
