Agreed, every game should have a glitchless category as long as it's different enough and has at least one runner interested on it, and that's the case here. I recommend doing a glitchless run beforehand so the category has a higher chance to get added.
How do we want to define glitchless? Would you say that hopping or wall acceleration (or how is it called when you press w+d near a wall to your right to accelerate) are a glitches? I would say yes, but I am not sure.
I don't know how strict the moderators on this leaderboard are but your timer starts too late, you cannot see the starting condition here. Either way I recommend installing an automatic timer for it, instructions here.
I use the config from BitRain with automatic timer, maybe I forgot to add a start at timer when I duplicated my settings from any% to glitchless. I will fix this. I agree on the glitchless rules by Half Life 2 but I don't like to consider NPC Teleporting as glitchless.
I have looked it up and the timer is correct. Your can see here https://www.speedrun.com/ea1/resources/keufw
That is not the automatic timer. The automatic timer was implemented somewhere in 2020 or 2021, and that post is made 9 years ago. If you see my run, you can see that the timer ends pretty early, whereas your timer continues pretty far down to the pit at the end of the game.
So, you mean I end the time late and not start late. OK agree. But that's something you can correct afterwards.
But you wrote "your timer starts too late" I'm confused. I start the time with 'ü' and that's the same key as the game starts, then after every level it splits automatically and pauses to remove loading time. At the end I press 'ü' again to end the timer, and the game restarts. Then when I uploaded it on YouTube I look when the floor breaks and that's the final time. You know I'm saying?
So, that new automation can also stop the timer? I look up how to config it, that save me a bit of time.
That link that you sent me goes to SourceSplit from 2838. That's what I use. How can I set it up to time the end better?
The SourceSplit version I am using is v3.3.4.5, yours is v.2.2.1, so it is clearly outdated and not from the GitHub I sent you. Only the latest (or near latest) have the automatic timer.
And with "starts late" I meant that the recording shows "0.01" at the start. Recordings for proof purposes start at least a second before the "0.00" mark, regardless of the timer being automatic or not.
OK, thanks. I try it out. And sometimes when I start the timer and load the savefile, the timer runs for 0.01 seconds, I don't know how to fix it but for me it's not relevant. Maybe I can set up SourceSplit to automatically start the timer after I loaded and end it as well :D
Just tested it. It's great. The start is always perfect, I don't need to reset the timer when I failed and reset the run, the timer doesn't stop when I pause the game. Now I need to figure out how to auto end.
Big thanks again for the advice and sorry that I was confused and didn't know what you mean the whole time.
