I just started learning the route for DC as going to start running this and one thing I noticed is that Easy mode saves c. 20 seconds over Normal due to:
- Quicker kill of the first raptor
- Not having to pick up the grenade gun as already have it
- Faster rex section at the heliport
The rules don't say anything about difficulty, however, everyone seems to run this game on Normal and wondering why if there is a pretty clear time save on Easy?
you are right it was never really specified but it was an unwritten rule to play the game at its regular difficulty and not on easy mode, for obvious reasons that you just stated. Will update the rules for clarification As Dino is basically just a spin-of of Resi we also mostly just used the same rules that has been used for the Resi Runs but with the difference since there is no "Heavy" mode in DC we opted for the "Normal" difficulty.

With the release of the GOG / DRM Free Version of DinoCrisis 1 and 2 there will be some investigation needed on how the game will run and what the best way to use this version within the ruleset.
For now it seems that the GOG Version
