I'm having trouble with load removal. When I activate it and set my time for in game 1) the timer doesn't stop during loads and 2) when I split the time's don't show up. It's just a dash (-). Is there some order I have to do things in so it can talk to the game because it seems like they're is some kind of communication error between the two or something. Thanks
are you sure you are splitting and not just skipping the current split? it would explain the -'s. Also double check to see if the timer is set to IGT and the load remover is activated. Otherwise i dont really see what could be causing that, unless you've set the splits for another game... I'm not sure if the load remover for Bioshock 1 also works for the remaster and vice-versa, might wanna check that out
Make sure you have your comparison on in-game time. If it is set for real time then it would not have a time to display. Also make sure you are not comparing against different splits.
I am splitting. I thought that might be it so I tried splitting from livesplit itself (right-click, control, split).
It is in Game Time. When I run real time it's fine. It just doesn't show times when I do game time.
The load removal is activated (I've tried deactivating it and reactivating it at different point, when bioshock starts running, once the run has started, before bioshock is open).
I am running the original (not remastered through steam). I did have to run it in compatibility mode (XP service package 3) and run as admin to get audio to work. I'm also running in windowed mode though that shouldn't matter.
This is something I've seen before when running borderlands 2. I need to have the game running before I open the splitter but that doesn't seem to be the issue here.
That's really weird... i also use compatibility mode and run it windowed so your problem should be elsewhere, though i have no clue where
I figured out a way to get it to work for me (for anyone interested) by looking at people who couldn't get their in game timer to work for a few other games.
It turned out that there was some issue with livesplit recognizing that the game was running when it was windowed. So once I made it fullscreen it worked.
There were some issues with Bioshock crashing when I changed the graphics settings when it was full screen though so I also had to do a quick fix for that. In steam right click on the bioshock -> settings -> general, click "Set Launch Options...", type "-dx9". And then make sure to launch through steam (not using a shortcut or directly clicking on the .exe file).
This was in addition to other fixes I did to get the game audio working (running with compatibility mode for XP service package 3 mostly). But the fixes for bioshock crashing and audio can be found on the steam forums.
