When pitching, what strategies do you all use to get the opp to swing and make contact, and out the ball in play?
It seems some pitchers have a higher whiff rate, or a higher called strike rate.
A few pitchers seem to induce more swings/contact with a changeup.
Wondering what strats others have worked out.
That's a great question. I would love to know if there are any tricks of the trade or strats. 😊 From what I can remember, most of the time I just pressed A. No curve or speed, just threw it. 🤷♂️
Not really... I tried a number of pitchers and tracked the pitches (ball put in play, or not). I tried throwing just a simple fastball ("A") and also tried a change up. It seemed some of the faster pitchers worked better by throwing changeups. But i still never really found a pitcher i could use consistently enough to get close to the record. Some did seem significantly better than others, though.
I also watched LackAttack's #1 run and counted his pitches not in play. I forget now what the total was over 5 innings but I was no where close. He maybe was around 9.
Another thought I had was it may be faster to hit 2 batters and then turn a triple play each inning. Either a real triple play or by baiting the runners and getting them out.
Maybe I'll go try again.....
