Hello everyone! We are back with a new update!

We have been working on it since the game's workshop update was first announced. We first wanted to drop these changes at the same time as the workshop did but seems like it's taking more time than we thought. That's why you are getting those new stuff so suddenly! Some of you already knew about some of the things that we are adding right now.

Anyways, let's get to ALL the new changes!!

New Categories:

General Changes on Main Categories:

We noticed that the main categories didn't really make sense, that's why "Any% No Wings" and "Any% Wings" got respectively turned into; "Any%" and "Wings" and each will have a new version of them; "Any% Unrestricted" and "Wings Unrestricted". Any% is basically No Wings, this sounded weird that's why we have changed the name.

Unrestricted Categories:

These categories will basically allow EVERY SINGLE mechanics in the game except the trainer and uncapping the game's fps to +144 (it's a True Any% category if you prefer to call it that way). To make it simple, finish the game as fast as possible, in any way possible as long as you respect the general restrictions! It will be playable in all main categories including the new ones...

Controller Leaderboard:

A new part of the leaderboard just opened! "Controller Any%" and "Controller Wings" will be for controller players only. Ofc some runners will make a run and say that they played on controller even though they didn't, that's why to submit on it you will have to include an input display of your controller on the video to have a proof that you played on controller. If you are a controller player you can still submit to the main leaderboard obviously if you want to. This category exists thanks to some controller players that were complaining about how it was unfair because M&K runners had an obvious advantage on the mechanics and all. The idea comes mainly from @KEVDEV68.

No Major Skips:

The NMS category wasn't updated regularly with new restrictions because we were waiting for the update to come out, and because of that, it slowly became a laughable category with time, as players found new skips on new skips. That's why we have decided to remove this category from the leaderboard. HOWEVER, I personally still think this as something that could make its comeback later when I will have something that is consistent enough to be finally called as a proper "No Major Skips". For this I may need your help. I'll make a poll on the Discord Server to know if you would like a comeback of the NMS category, after that I will probably find a way to have your ideas! Anyways thanks for playing this category even though it didn't stand very long :). To end this subject, the NMS category will freeze starting from now and all the runs on it will be transferred to another category just as a way to display the best players and runs, please don't submit to this category and sorry to those wanted to and played the category!

New (Sub) Categories:

No Major Glitches:

This idea came to me thanks to top runner @lilvicos. If NMS goes away then we must have something as a subtitute, that's when the new NMG comes in! Not hard to understand, "Basically, the glitches; CBOs; trampoline buffers/bumper buffers/double jumps, are not allowed" some other well known skips are not allowed like the zeus skip or even the Hell Cliffs' mountain skip for example. I think that it may be one of the category that's the most interesting cause it's not about having luck or not with the glitches and buffers, it's more about pure skill and control of your character's mechanics over everything else! If you have a doubt about a skip being considered as a "Major Glitch" ask, it's better than doing and then having your run moved to another category because you used a major glitch. Remember that ALL CBOs are not allowed in this category.

No Bumper Buffers:

We know that a lot of you are getting kind of disgusted of speedrunning the game, and the main reason is usually the "Trampoline buffers" which is the mechanic that makes you go 2x higher than usual when taking a trampoline, and as you may already know, it also works on drums & on the red pillows, that's why we have created the "No Bumper Buffers" category. To make it simple, all the Trampoline, Drum and Pillow tricks that gets you flying way higher than you should be, are banned in this category. I know for example that a lot of top players were getting tired of this game because of that mechanic, let's hope that players like them will find again at least a bit of the pleasure when running the game!! About the rules, except for the Bumpers' double jumps, the restrictions are the same as the ones in the "Restricted" category.

Wow, finally, that was alot to say! I'm not gonna lie I'm a bit stressed to see you guys' opinions about the new changes. I have been working on it for a pretty long time so I do really hope that you will like them and enjoy running them!!! If you have any ideas or just want to give your opinion on all that, you are welcome on the Discord as always!

Hello everyone!

As you may know there are lot of runners that uses the scroll wheel to jump to make bunny hopping in the game easier. While this is already a debatable rule, we decided to allow that as most engine that allows that kind of physics usually also allow the player to bind the scroll wheel to the "Jump" action. However, this game does not... until now!

The only reason we allowed external software for rebinding keys was exactly that: rebinding the scroll wheel to Space. This unfortunately created a possible exploit for potential cheater to use those programs in a way that it is forbidden, without allowing us to check for that.

This also created a gap between players that uses "free scroll" mouses (and cheaters) with CBOs (Collision Box Overlap, a technic found that allows player to use overlapping collision boxes to jump where it wasn't meant to) skips (especially the chains grinding, bubble cut, ladder grinding...). This gave those players an unfair advantage regarding the success rate of those skips compared to players that use normal mouses.

We decided to conduct a vote within the Discord community to gather your feedback. Here are the results:

  • 71% were AGAINST allowing the "free scroll" wheel / 29% for
  • 50% were FOR allowing the use of CBOs / 50% against
  • 63% were AGAINST allowing ANY external software (even for rebinding keys) / 37% for

We also gathered the top runners feedback and with a final discussion within the moderation team, we are making the following changes in the rules:

New Rules

  • Using a "free scroll" (infinite scroll) scrollwheel is not allowed in runs. If we have suspicions that you're using one, we may ask you to provide specific proof for your run to be validated
  • Using any 3rd party software (even for rebinding scrollwheel) is no longer allowed. You can bind the scroll wheel to the jump key directly in the game now!
  • TOP 10 runs MUST have input display visible (both keyboard AND mouse, especially the scroll wheel) on the recording when submitted
  • There is no rule change regarding CBOs in skips that use that. The Bubble skip at temple, grinding chains and ladders with jumps (among others) are still allowed

We will allow people to submit runs that do not comply to those new rules for the next 12 hours only (except for the free/infinite scroll, it won't be allowed from now onand will be checked if suspicious)

We think that those rules are for the best of the future of the speedrun of this game and we hope you agree. If you have any questions, suggestions or feedback to give us please let us know on the speedrunning Discord!

We wish you good luck for you runs, and see you all in paradise!

Hey everyone!

Some major changes were made to this leaderboard!!

Sub-categories:

Sub-categories have been added to the main categories, Unrestricted is exactly the same as the former "Any% NoWings" (no subcategory), we added a NoMajorSkips sub-category for runners that don't want / have the time to train the major skips, it's also basically for some more diversity. The runs that were made before this update have been manually checked by me and re-directed to the right sub-category.

Levels (ILs):

The Levels are back and every parts of the game are available as an IL. Don't bother calculating the runs, just submit the time you think you got and we will do the rest. They have the same categories and sub-categories as the Full Game runs.

In-Game Leaderboard:

The speedrun.com leaderboard is now available to check directly on the in-game leaderboard!

That's it for all the major stuff that were added!

Thank you all for being this active! As I speak, we are the 3rd most popular recent game leaderboard on speedrun.com.

If you have suggestions or anything, come on our discord :)

Hey everyone! The leaderboard is now set up as we wanted it to be.

Please read the rules to make sure that you don't run for nothing.

VERY IMPORTANT RULE: "When restarting a run, you are not allowed to do it using the "Reset Game" button, you must start a completely new run to avoid some parts of the game such as the riddles to stay the way it was before resetting." If you don't follow this rule, the run will be rejected with no exceptions.

Thanks a lot to those who followed and that are and/or will be involved into this speedrunning community!

I hope we will not have to reject y'all runs for stupid reasons so, GL and HF for your runs!
