I think the rules could see some clarification / improvements. It's currently not mentioned anywhere but I assume all categories are meant to be played on patch 1.18, normal difficulty with default table settings and without Buy-In balls.
For Passenger Super and Police Chase Super, I would be in favor of banning Nitro Boost usage because it makes the whole thing much easier. Also, one might enforce that PF and PCF cannot be started through Open the Trunk. With the current rules, one can drain twice in the city, start PCF with the $13 pity award Open the Trunk and win almost instantly with a Nitro Boost. Pretty lame.
Lastly, what about a category for who can reach a certain amount of points the fastest? I think this would make a great category as runners get to actually play the game instead of draining on purpose and forfeiting city missions. I'm not sure which thresholds would work well here. 500.000.000 is a bit low, but 1.000.000.000 is a bit high, but we could have both.
Hey, thanks for letting me know about this.
Strange, I'm running Version 1.20 of the game, the Kickstarter release from 2012. (Where does it say which version? In the main menu outside of the simulation?) I think in that case, either 1.18 or 1.20 is a-ok to use. But yeah, description above is accurate.
Agreed with the ban on Nitro Boosts. Either that or making subsections for With and Without. PCF is a bit trickier because for a Super, you need to go through several phases. Nitro Boost only spots one shot for progress. Passenger Frenzy allows for a Super Jackpot almost instantly and I can see the reasoning with that.
Point goals feel kind of arbitrary and would be put in the Misc section. Agreed that we can have both 500M and 1 billion as goals.
Thanks for verifying the run. 😊
I didn't know version 1.20 existed, I'll try it soon. Cool that you're fine with the rule updates.
No worries. Got to account for (almost) all the possibilities, you know?
I have 1.18 in the rules as good to use, just in case.
