so I was experimenting with different values in the keyboard.cfg file and found that if you set the shoot key to 1 all keys on the keyboard shoot and if you set it to 0 it shoots as fast as possible. Makes the any% a little broken imho.

It's not that broken as it seems because you can only shoot 3 shurikens at a time, andhe kind of throws them 3 together, if 1 hits an enemy all 3 do as well. The disadvantage of this is that you can't spare other 2 for enemies that might kill you in the way, but for bosses yeh it's very usefull :P

I think it is handled fine by having a separate glitchless category.

I don’t like editing files like that. If the settings within the game don’t allow you to do it, it’s clearly unintended and basically a hack. This shouldn’t be allowed.

It explicitly tells you to change the configuration file. Glitches are not supposed to be intended lol. I agree it does break the game but that is what the glitchless categories are for.

The fact that editing the file is endorsed by the manual makes it much more legitimate. Still sucks to see speedruns glitched like that which basically removes all of the challenge, though.

To clarify, is editing this file the main glitch that's causing such crazy fast attacks in the glitched categories? And that's allowed, right? Just want to make sure before I start running with it.

Yes editing the file will cause the crazy fast attacks. You cannot use this glitch in the glitchless categories.
