I'm wanting to speedrun this game, but I'm wondering how games typically handle updates for runs. If I want to compete for the main category should I or should I not update the game?

Update the game. We do not speedrun pre-day 1 patch. For insight, on Pokemon Brilliant Diamond/Shining Pearl, we banned the earliest version almost immediately, due to how unfinished the game was amongst other reasons.
and to be clear, day one patch is the only update so far correct?
