First Hello. I am so happy to see this game taking off. When I first ran this game over 2 years ago and and set the now horrid sub 30 minute mark on the game things have changed so much. Sure there are only 2 other TG-16 runners atm but damn that is impressive to me. Toad I have talked to you in your twitch and god DAMN how did you figure out that skip in the last cave? 2 years I wasted trying and Sub keep going you already beat me just keep going. I have decided to stop running this game and will hence forth only be going to mod this category from time to time and MAYBE routing the mage or warrior but even then I won't be too active as my computer can't handle it anymore and I can't afford to keep going. But a slight tip to you both. Skip the tri-star. It does no extra damage apparently and only serves to slow you both down.

Thank you both for proving my long standing theory. The TG-16 version can be faster then the Arcade version. I feel almost like the father of this category and well...Papa is proud. Keep it going guys I really hope to see a sub 20 minute at AGDQ/Convention of your choice.

Hey, Bacon!

This game has been a blast to play. I always had Arcade Cadash in my list of games to try out as a speedrun, but when I watched Toad play the TG-16 version and saw how it just looked faster and more fluid to play I had to give it a spin. Your time is solid with the strats known at that time I wouldn't sweat it. I know the struggle of trying to optimize a game solo. Without people to help collaborate it can be tough to look at things in a different perspective. I had your run and being able to watch Toad to start off with a solid base.

Sorry to hear you won't be playing I was hoping you would come out of retirement with all the new stuff that has been discovered and I could get a chance to watch you play, but I understand your reasons. It would be cool to see the other classes be routed out though.

For the Village Boost I had about 4-5 savestates with the wraith in differing positions. At first I was trying to jump off the vine and to get hit by either the wraith or lighting to boost up there, but saw that you would need to be able to jump off the vine higher to make it happen. So I tried just jumping and aimed to get hit at the peak of the jump next to the cliff and sure enough that was the ticket to make it happen. You can see the last bit of my thought process in this vod.

We still need to find a proper setup for it since it's pure hell to make it happen, but I'm sure something will come around. Do you know if the Wraiths port to locations by pure rng or is it influenced by frames or their positioning? That would be a huge help.

Anyways take it easy man glad you get to see the game you started get pushed down to almost it's limit. It's looking like low 21/high 20 is the end game time from what I see.

I don't know the wraiths at all since I never went with analyzing anything like RNG etc. Everything I did I did just through normal play. I do have some secrets I discovered NONE of which help in a speed run. Which I will detail now: If right when you kill Crawling Kelp you go down and wait for the Elixir sometime It wont spawn at all... You can frame perfect talking to the fake king and he will say his opening line twice before the princess shows up to confront him. And you know about town music in the final dungeon if you watched my runs but since the last shop is skipped now it doesn't matter.

Things that killed runs: The secret wall for the Dragon Amulet(max money) is above the secret wall to the fire elemental. But since that path is skipped now its moot.

Things to help you both: Skip the tri star. It deals the same DPS as the Shuriken and I think you can fire it faster on the Silk Worm

When you attach the silk you have a few frames, maybe only one or two, to jump up before the text box. This will allow you to grab the silk before it fully drops. Even if you miss it if you jump up before the text box you will still grab it earlier.

Since the skip has been found for the final cave... Skipping Crawling Kelp MAY be possible now. This would save over 1 minute of time.

The only skip left is to try and skip Silk worm but I fear even if it was possible you would still need to grind form lvls 3-10 in the final area taking considerably more damage and risking a wipe. I don't think even if it becomes possible it should be taken until leveled up off the golems.

Leveling does increase jump height but at level 20 ninja and warrior(the highest jumpers) Are still a few pixels short of reaching the silk ledge. Not to mention leveling to 20 takes forever. So this fact is even more useless.

RNG appears to start at start up. Going off experience taking a save state at the character select screen and going to Black Pudding he moved in the same ways 4 times in a row with no apparent way to change his RNG until I continued through with a game over or reset the emulation completely. Someone who can actually study that will be needed.

And my last two bits of wisdom for future runners... The priests shield ability is useless in speed runs due to MP consumption and the mage just sucks. We dont get a lot of options to get MP back so having to use their base attacks...I couldn't beat black pudding at level 5 on the priest due to slow refire rate and only just barely at 4 for the mage due to his 1-3 spells and now I gotta poke you attacks. If they ever get a sub 30 I will shit bricks.

So after doing some number crunching I am lead to believe all weapons but the Super Kunai are useless. Shuriken takes 10-12 hits to kill a golem at level 3 same as Kunai and the Tristar. Every level took the same # of hits to kill one. So the weapons break down as follow: Shuriken Base Weapon. Kunai Pierces walls but not enemies. Tri-Star:Hits low med and high at the same time. No DMG bonuses to confirm at this time. Super Kunai pierces walls and enemies and seems to fly faster for faster refire Fireball SHOULD do more dmg but seems to only do so to the Wizard Barrouge form and nothing else.

So for future runners. Skip all weapons until the Super Kunai.

Been a year already.

Been a he'll of a year at that. My whole has changed and no Cadash has never once left my mind. I've been working on a new set of strats from square one. I haven't made much progress since i don't have a pc anymore. But by using an emulator on a 3ds I have been practicing a few new ideas and even broke some things I thought impossible. However I have yet to get the lich skip once. I don't know how you guys pulled that off but kudos.

Anyways I won't spoil anything right now but I am working on a host of new things and it might lead to a TAS if I can ever manage to figure out how to record one.
