Solution to the runs awaiting verification for too long

Hi,

Since I got granted new powers ( Kappa ) I noticed that some runs are awaiting verification for MONTHS because of the inactivity of the mods of some games.

I don't have a solution to this yet but I think this might be interesting to talk about that publically, a lot of brains is always better than only one.

The only idea I'd have right now would be the following : When a run is posted and is not verified by a mod in, let's say, a week, then the other players for this game can verify the run as well (kind of public verification, but still restricted to avoid worst cases scenarios). If another week passes then it's automatically accepted (Silence is tantamount of consent).

Any thoughts ? More ideas ? Go for it.

After a predetermined set period of time the run is posted but with an option for it to be challenged by other non-mods. If it then get a certain amount of challenges, for it not being legit, it goes back to be needed to be verified by a mod in perpetuity until it is either accepted or rejected by the mod.

You could also roll out the ability to challenge all runs but runs verified by a mod stay on the board while it is noted to the mods that it has been challenged to be relooked at. Possibly with a comment from the person that has challenged it to why they believe it not a legit run.

This is an idea, but we're still in the issue that if the mod(s) are away forever, the run might never be entirely accepted. Or we could add a security thingy where a new mod is designated to have some activity again.

Unfortuntely, some people can easily request a game and then never visit the website again.

cool idea but theirs runs for the game i mod (sadx) that get ignored for specific reasons for weeks at a time. would like a option to opt-runs/entire games out of this option if added

While I think this is a good idea, I think the tme limit until others can approve it should be able to be set by the game mods or series mods.

Also a bit away from this topic but I think it's still a bit relevant. it'd be cool if mods' runs don't get automatically verified, it'd be cool if there was an option to choose if they get auto-verified or not.

^ the mod autoverification was something i also said on the IRC once not so long ago.

and on what klashik said: maybe add something that people need to have atleast one run approved before they can request a game leaderboards and if they want it to add their time they have to get into contact over IRC/mail/that sort stuff.

but on the topic: maybe when its coming open for the public to approve add something like "x/3 people approved this run" so that atleast multiple people have to see it that are no game mods. and when a game mod approves it during the time that just overrules the x/3 thing.

What about just punting to a team of global moderators if X number of days / weeks go by?

Full mods already have the possibility of seeing and verifying all runs. But just because they're full mods doesn't mean they know every single game of course.

Mods now have the option to submit runs without automatic verification.
theirs runs for the game i mod (sadx) that get ignored for specific reasons for weeks at a time
why would you ignore runs ? watch it then accept or reject it.
