i wana know which keybinds are the best since the ones i have are kinda bad
keybinds are a preference thing, use whatever feels right and comfortable to you
i use my mouse buttons for the last two slots (8 & 9) so i dont need to reach all the way over with my finger.
Its all preference. I use 1 2 3 4 z x c LAlt and mouse 4. It helps to turn scrolling sensitivity all the way down to force you to use hotkeys. Thats what I did to get used to hotkeys over scrolling.
I totally agree to the others, it's all just preference. Also important to mention is particular when Speedruning Minecraft you need hotkeys so choose any keys you can reach pretty easily and won't be hard to memorize. Considering that I would say arrow keys f.e. would be a bad choice considering the lack of hotkeys.
I use the default keys except F3. Due to the fact that I have a 60% keyboard, it is inconvenient to use the F1-F12 keys, so I rebind F3 to CapLock
I would recommend using other, closer keys for your last few hotbar slots. Personally, I use q, c, mouse button, and r for my last 4 slots. I also rebinded change perspective to a mouse button because f5 is kind of hard to reach. But really you should use whatever suits you best.
I would just go with the most comfortable keybinds for you, I've asked the same question before and some of the runners I like use keybinds that I can't even begin to reach comfortably. Go with whatever feels natural and smooth. I'll still show mine as an example but it's more a matter of your hand positioning and arm posture, especially if you quick loot you need the one you are most comfortable with to make that as fast as possible.
1: caps lock 2: 2 3: 3 4: Mouse side button 1 5: r 6: q 7: 1 8: Mouse side button 2 9: c F5: g Drop item: ~
im surprised people still post on this thread lol
btw i guess these are mine
Sprint: Shift Sneak: Caps Lock Slot 1: E Slot 2: R Slot 3: 3 Slot 4: 4 Slot 5: C Slot 6: V Slot 7: B Slot 8: Tab Slot 9: Alt Drop Item: F Offhand: Z Perspective: X Inventory: Q
as a Mac + japanneue Keyboard user I use those key hotbar1 : 1 hotbar2 : 2 hotbar3: 3 hotbar4 :4 hotbar: 5 mouse button 5(side button 2)( I rebind my mouse button as number key 5) hotbar6: eng/num key (which is on the left of space key) hotbar7: X hotbar8 : C hotbar9 : V perspective: R others are deflate
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, R, G, and C. F for offhand, shift to sneak, and tab to change perspective. Mouse button 1 for sprinting, and the DPI button for F3. I might change my F3 button to my 2nd mouse button, but it's pretty comfortable.
I would recommend giving mouse button 1 to sprint a shot.
I love how among all the answers only ONE person submitted ANY runs in 1.16 java edition. Like "I use the normal ones" alright but maybe read the question first and realize they're asking about the BEST keybinds, in other words, which helped you to achieve something in speedrunning?? No? Just use your brain sometimes pls before giving advices. About that question, the most important thing is to make sure that you don't need to raise your hand to reach each of the hotkeys. In example, I can't reach my 6-9 keys, so I rebinded them to free keys close to WASD, like R, Z, X, C or whatever. Also a good practice in my opinion is to check keybinds of top 50 speedrunners and just copy them and try to test and see if they fit you or not. Wouldn't be recommending this if it hadn't helped me get a sub 11.
@lottsy lol even if none of them has actualy submitted they can give their ideas for keybinds for what is the best for them and what they are confortable with, even if they haven't done an speedrun with it yet doesn't mean they can't have an idea of what can work better for optimal gaming (which follows to be better in speedrunning) There is no objective "best" for something like this, so everyone can contribute with something to test
You went very rude straight up saying everyone responding has no brain. And btw a lot of the example binds i've seen in this post kinda follow the structure you explained so yeah
@lottsy HOOOLD UP so your submitted runs of sub 11 are the ones legitimating you over the rest?
shame on you lmao
