real time should be used since igt doesn't count menuing, which can be an important (and long) part of the run
I do get what you mean but the main problem is the game slows down if there are too many things on screen which disadvantages people on lower end devices, especially on chapter 4 or challenge 5 normal and up. That's why I went with in game time.
wouldn't people on lower end devices get an advantage then since the game is slower, therefore giving them more time to react etc, but the timer is also slower
while that is true using RTA could potentially make it impossible for people on lower end devices to get a wr run because of lag while IGT does mean people on higher end devices can beat a wr
ok but if it's igt and slower that would essentially mean people on lower end devices would be cheating
besides this game isn't that hard to run anyways
The main reason I decided igt is so people on lower end devices don't get a time penalty for using a lower end device
In terms of your original point if you can think of a way to time runs in a way that would include menuing, wouldn't penalize low end devices for being low end and isn't too complicated I would be happy to consider it
Also chapter 4 can be quite hard to run due to the sheer amount of bullets the orange enemies spawn in a lot of stages
ok but there is no reason to act like lower end devices are the holy grail
several games, especially ones on console, allow every platform and the ones with the best platform get the fastest times. i don't even have that good of a phone, the least complicated method of timing is to take the amount of time between the start and end of the run
it would be acceptable to remove loads since those can be inconsistent even on one device
