i'm thinking about running this game but i was wondering for console runs can they be recorded with an external recording ?
As long as the whole screen is captured, the timer is visible and readable then it is ok.
I have a question. I have tried to speedrun the tutorial before to get the world record (didn't get it obviously) was about to try again today. My problem is however that with the new update the health of low tier tanks got changed and this is also true for the tutorial. could a new category be made for the new versions?
Making new Categories and moving the old ones to misc. would once again mean a change in standard categories and another "restart" for this leaderboard. It also means that moving forward, everytime the values are changed we would need new categories. I am thinking that replacing "Game Version" info with a simple "old patch " and "Current Patch" or something of the sorts could be an alternative, then one can simply filter out the runs running on an old version.
yeah, it's kinda shit... But if nothing is done nobody would ever be able to get wr again. I hope you figure something out that works.
Just wondering, the rules say we need to include pressing battle but could their be an exception for replays? I wasn't recording at the time but I could record the replay. I'm pretty sure they can't be tampered with so I was wondering if these were valid.
Hmm, I guess. I think if you record the replay as footage and submit the actual replay with it, it is probably fine. We should have enough to verify that it is legit.
replays can not be faked or if their date is recorded on the wotreplay.eu, the problem is that only replays the current version can be read
So I wanted to have some more clarification for this part of the rules for Upgrade% categories. As I was reading it I got confused on this part: "-having modules unlocked that can be unlocked on other tanks (tanks that come later in the same line as the tank you are playing do not count for this. You have to look at the tech tree in the current patch; this means that you can have unlocked modules because of an older tech tree, these do NOT count)." My source of confusion is that this rule is unclear on whether having modules unlocked from other vehicles is allowed or not. The rule is in the "Things that are allowed" part and so it makes me feel that we can have preexisting modules researched from other vehicles in a nation. Then the specifics in the brackets say the opposite. More clarification would be appreciated, thanks. :3
- you ARE allowed to have modules unlocked that can be unlocked on other tanks.
- UNLESS those tanks come directly after the tank you look at.
So for example the M4A1 comes after the T6 medium. Let's say you want to do a run for the T6 medium. You see that it has the 105mm derp. It can be unlocked on the M4A1, but that doesn't count because it comes after the T6 medium. In this example, you are however still allowed to have the 105mm unlocked but that is because of the M4A3E2 (this tank is in the collector's vehicles tab and you can unlock the gun there). I hope this clarifies things a bit. I am planning on making a sheet that shows what modules are allowed and which are not, but this will take a lot of time so don't expect it anytime soon.
