Apologies for the potential dumb question.
Would it be easier to use SRTs rather than splits to showcase in-game timer per game? Due to the real-time timer being required as well, I can foresee a problem with trying to open different splits per game (unless all the splits are added together in one file I guess!). Is there such an SRT for RE1 as well? (didn't see that in the resources for that page unless I missed something.

Not dumb at all.
It is definitely easier to just use the SRTs for each game. There is an SRT for RE1, but it doesn't work with the Classic REbirth patch (though he is looking into fixing it). This is why we required a three minute break between games: to give people time to switch splits/autosplitters/games and hopefully a short stretch. Eventually we hope to have a set of splits that works for all three games!
That being said, you are not required to show an RTA timer, you just have to submit the real time which you can get by subtracting the timestamps for the start and end conditions :)
