Hello All,
I'm fairly new with LiveSplit and SpeedRun.com but I have been asked to do some speed runs of my own for the game Stronghold. If someone has experience doing speed runs with this game please let me know and I can give you my contact information. Thanks in advanced.
What exactly is the issue? If it's just preliminary setup for LiveSplit, there's not much about that that's game-specific. Just Right Click > Edit Splits, then enter all the information you need for your game. Once you have the splits you need, Right Click > Settings, and set up your split hotkeys, preferably on keys you don't otherwise use so you won't accidentally hit them. Then for PC games, make sure Global Hotkeys are enabled, and you'll be able to split freely whilst in different windows.
Yup, Livesplit is basically just "run and go" once you change your splits. The real "challenge" or exploration comes when you're trying to customize it to something unique for you and your stream. It has a myriad of settings you can play with and the best way to get the hang of those settings is to just constantly mess with them and see what you like/what works best for you.
First all, thank you Drakodan and Timmiluvs for your quick response. I can manually run the splits with my game. The main thing I'm wondering is once I have setup the Splits are they to supposed to automatically record the times for each mission once completed and automatically start the next mission throughout the entire campaign? Or, do I have to hit my hotkey once each mission is completed myself? Reading the "Additional Info" it does show that "There is no Auto Splitter available for this game" but I've heard this is not the case and it can auto split. Below is what is in the Addional Info tab. If I have to manually do it, that is fine. I can do screen recording while running my split. Can someone confirm this?
Runs of this game require video proof.
Complete all 21 missions from the Military Campaign as fast as possible. CHEATS and HACKS are not allowed!
The missions need to be done in order. A mission is deemed completed when the "Victory" text shows up.
Timing is done in RTA. Timer starts when you press "Start Game" on the mission objective on "The Gathering the Lost" and ends when the "Victory" text shows up on "Final Vengeance".
I have no idea if an autosplitter exists for your game, but if it doesn't then yes, you will have to manually split each time you complete a section. Autosplitters unfortunately don't just 'exist', they're scripts that someone needs to manually create using memory values from the game's code.
Perfect, thank you for that answer. I can manually do it without issues. If I have some time I may even create an autosplitter for future cases if that is all it takes to create one.
I am wanting to do a Speedrun for Need For Speed: Underground. But, I am not able to use the Splits. And, the AutoSpliter is not working either. I don't know what is going on? Can, someone help please.
this thread has been inactive for 7 years and your post isnt even related to it.
