Got an issue with the way this goes page is run? Suggestions for clarity in the records? Catch someone getting verified even though they timed wrong or broke the rules?
You be the police! Let me know in this thread and I'll get on it ASAP. Don't spam, though, keep it tidy.
Done! I had put it that way because someone gave me the names in all lowercase, and this was before I had the game so I thought they were presented as such.
Also, I removed the message about which games are/aren't in the Beta, as the beta category no longer exists for ILs.
Thank you!
3 categories for individual levels? Katana, Speedrun and SpeedrunRT
Someone submitted a Speedrun time for kickstart which wasn't SpeedrunRT
I rejected those, telling the person to use SpeedrunRT, and I'll make a third category. Although I really don't like the idea of having two categories that only differ in the /way/ you time, not in the actual method of play. I have to go beat Core (just playing through the game for my first time) then I'll set it up.
It does differ the way you play though... you can optimize in game movement in speedrun mode, but this takes longer real time.
Actually, you have a point there. Adding now =)
(Thanks for pointing that out, yo)
Yeah, this is what I was going to talk about. First of all, thanks for making the changes. Secondly, while I have only been able to do a casual play through right now (moving house so no rig), the timing on both Speedrun and SpeedrunRT can be made faster IGT by going slower RTA to make sure your movement is right.
So those modes as "speedruns" go, are completely useless RTA, and that time should only be used in the form of a tie-break. IGT it the main determining factor for those mods. Thankfully SpeedrunRT mode exists, but we'll see how that one pans out down the line.
As far as the game goes, it should be like it was in the Beta and as it is currently. NG starts at the run of SUPERHOT.EXE and the end it the final input of the player.
Beta submissions will no longer be accepted, same with ILs from the Beta. Web demo will still be continued to be accepted.
Misc boards, when I get my rig set up tomorrow, will be created for endless modes, all secrets and a few other "fun" ones.
Thinking about it earlier, but how about an ultra difficult Superhot% miscellaneous category. I was thinking deathless, no hotswitching (except from necessary ones, Fall and Core) and possibly no weapons.
Would anyone be interested in this sort of thing?
When AMVX sets up extra category stuff like he said, then perhaps. Sounds cool to me as a side thing, but it'd more be up to a consensus among Any% runners (I only plan to run ILs for the time being.)
Demo and BETA categories should probably be made misc, then. Also I dont know what the heck NG+ is meant to be?
Me neither, to be honest. Someone told me there was an NG+. I'll delete it later.
NG+ was one of the stretch goals for the Kickstarter. It seems to have become the challenge modes now.
Is it possible to make PC the default submission type instead of Xbox?
Also, can Katana Mode be removed from the levels which Katana Mode does not exist on, or do all modes need to be available for all levels?
Firstly: Doing a full game run in a challenge mode is not yet accounted for, given that they are made for ILs.
Second: The timing for Any% is done on a full game basis, in the Superhot.exe 'story' mode. It's timed in real time, not using in-game timers (as these only exist in challenge modes.)
Third: I haven't found any secret computers myself, but we could totally do a 100% run in that aspect! I'd say do these runs, and post in a forum thread. If other people take interest, we can make new categories in the leaderboard.
(I formatted this kinda formally, but I'm totally open to stuff, and no worries about asking stuff others have asked before.)
I imagined 100% to be starting from a fresh save file, and beating the story, finding all the secrets, unlocking all the endless mode stuff, and 100%'ing all the challenges. Not sure anyone would do this though lol, as it would be quite a lengthy run
Yeah, that does fit the description better, but as you said, it would be really long. I think we'd have to make 100% confined to Superhot.exe (in-game, not the whole game itself), and make a full game totally everythign run its own weird, crazy thing if someone did it.
Maybe in the future, ctstorey. For right now, the modes we have leaderboards for are Katana (because it poses an interesting challenge without changing gameplay mechanics), SpeedrunRT (to showcase RTA skill in a more traditional IL format), and Speedrun (to showcase perfect usage of slowdown mechanics in a well-facilitated way). Ghost could prove interesting, as its runs can be extremely quick (a second or less on Corridor, for example), but all in all things are pretty saturated at the moment.
Thanks for the reply, i definitely agree. Also, do you know if anyone has found out how to remove all the challenge data?
