I don't think there's necessary a default plugin, most emulators come with multiple afaik. From what I understand, that rule is more for things like not using some sort of overclock or no frame-limiter for speedruns.
Ok.. Great point..
But the default plugin for emulation is Jabo's Direct3D8 1.7.0.67 -ver5 for pj64 1.7 and for pj64 1.6 it is Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6 It is stated that the default plugins must be used not custom.
Rule 1) -You must use the default settings for emulation.
Side note in pj64 1.6 there are only two options Jabo's Direct3D8 1.6 and Jabo's Direct3D6 1.5.2..
By definition, according to Nintendo, Virtual Console is an emulator- therefor all Virtual Console specific tricks should be banned as well, following this logic! Thank's for confirming GIM (that save's time) is banned ;)
I kind of get @perpetucake's point about VC being an emulator, which is true. Not to mention in a lot of ways PJ64 is more accurate than VC... but thats beside the point. and it was never said that GIM was banned. it just states that 1.0 and 1.1 specific glitches are banned and also you must use default settings, that being the plugins that the emulator came with and used by default. Most specifically the GFX plugin. along with the fact that turning off the framelimit and such are obviously banned.
@Marthur, Its emulating an n64 not wii vc GIM is not possible on n64 but it is on n64 emu explain why emu should be faster than n64 for any%.
If you give a good enough explanation i will delete this post.
GIM is possible on N64, just not as convenient as VC has it. It takes some extra stept for it to not crash.
Why is project 64 1.6 perfectly fine but 2.0 or later shit on? did they somehow make the emulation LESS accurate instead of their goal of it being oh you know MORE ACCURATE? I don't understand.
Oh I see this is some kind of sick joke right? Because I just tried 1.6 with the randomized rom hack and the moment link stepped out of his tree the entire emulator locked up! That shit doesn't fucking happen on the latest version of pj64!
Yeah but I still think version 2.3 is better than 1.6... I don't see why it gets shit on.
Anything 2.0 or higher has much faster loading and less lag. is a comparison but the old comparison video doesn't exist anymore. That's the reason why 2.0 and higher is not allowed for speedrunning the game.
Well can we see a 5th frame of real hardware to see how fast that is? Maybe include a 6th frame of VC while your at it...
Edit also the only real difference I saw was that in one version the wrong warp didn't work... the 3 that did work did so at the exact same time.... also in the into even though they jockeyed around during the cut scene they ended the cut scene at the exact same time. Hell even navi hitting the fence happened at the exact same time...

Have a good day.
I was just testing the mods to see how strict they are... I like that the only real consequence is getting laughed at. I didn't expect to actually make the list lol.
Na it just makes you look like a lying shitter who is doing nothing but wasting all of our time. We know how to do our job, thanks for trying though.
And my reason for posting that was to say that no one should be taking their time to give a reasonable, knowledgeable response to someone who would go as low as to lie about a time. Not just to laugh at you. Although it is pretty funny.
Jesus fig, can that image have some pixels Kappa?
Also, I didnt make the comparison and I don't want to invest my time into it simply because PJ2.X has been banned for about 3 years now.
Recently, many longer runs submitted as Twitch highlights have had parts of their audio muted due to Twitch's automatic copyright detection, the most frequent case being long sections of Lost Woods music. Some vods will even give a network error at these parts which can cause several minutes of foot
