I would suggest that the timer starts the moment you press space to dismiss the good luck text. Smashing space to get through those 5 messages is very annoying expecially if you reset a lot and keeping the messages in the time is just useless.
Also the timing should be stated in the rules. e.g. "Beat the game as fast as possible. Timing starts after you press space on the "Good Luck" screen and ends when you touch the blue flame of the boss' corpse."
i don't really mind time starting on "press space to start" personally and i agree, the timing should be made clear in the rules

What about a discord server? There we can exchange informarion more efficiently and especially in the beginning of this leaderboard that would be important.

Ok i think for now its better to keep the time start on the "press space to start" screen. Ill improve the rules if thats ok with you student.
