Rule Change: Twitch Highlights No Longer Allowed
Posted 13 hours ago by

As you may have heard Twitch has announced a hard 100‑hour cap on every channel’s combined Highlights starting from 19 May 2025. As a result, effective yesterday (21 April 2025) runs with a Twitch video as submission VOD will be rejected automatically. The leaderboard rules have been adjusted accordingly.

To be clear, any runs submitted before 21st April 2025 are not required to follow this rule, but if you do have any such runs, it is highly recommended to reupload them elsewhere to avoid the risk of your run getting retroactively rejected in the event that the video gets deleted.

To check which of your runs may be affected by this check your speedrun.com profile:

If you've identified any runs with a Twitch highlight that you want to update, you can either export the video via Twitch to YouTube directly, or use either TwitchLeecher or this tool (if you want to download many videos at once) to help you download all of them (and then re-upload them manually somewhere else). Then, to update the video link on any of your submissions, open your run’s page, click the "Edit Run" button (three‑dot menu above the video), paste the new link (e.g., YouTube) in the Video field and hit Update. Doing so puts it back into the verification queue, but we’ll re‑approve updated runs as quickly as we can.
