Players disconnecting and connecting during a day retroactively reduces or increases the number of customer groups that will arrive in that day. Our previous knowledge of only having to start the day with the correct number of players connected has been inaccurate since a change in patch 1.14. For this reason all runs with a player disconnecting during the day, where all groups have not yet been called, including closing time groups, must return to HQ and restart the day over. All runs where a player disconnects forcing the number of expected groups to decrease in the day will be rejected going forward. For reference, testing has shown that a player disconnecting in trios reduces the overall customer groups by approximately 17%.
The speedrun verifiers and moderators were unaware of this new game mechanic and thus any runs submitted where a player started the day but subsequently disconnected were still approved. We would like your overall opinion, should we go back and reject the runs with a disconnected player or do we keep these runs accepted on the board and only apply the rule going forward?
