Hello! It's been quite a while since the last major resort change.
Previously on these leaderboards, we've only put milliseconds on runs when a world record is tied to the second. However, due to the nature of some of this game's categories being inherently short, competitive, and difficult to optimize, ties to the second happen all the time outside of world records. Because of this, we've decided to (finally) add milliseconds to some categories outside of world records.
On the main Wii Sports Resort boards, every single golf category will receive millisecond barrier thresholds. These will work similar to Wii Sports' thresholds. Once a run in a category goes below a certain time, milliseconds will be added to it. Here's all of the golf thresholds:
18 Hole: 11:30
Resort: 6:00
Classic: 5:30
Resort A: 1:40
Resort B: 1:45
Resort C: 1:50
Classic A: 1:35
Classic B: 1:30
Classic C: 1:35
Special: 2:00
All of the thresholds will be added the rules for their respective categories. These thresholds are also subject to change in the future.
On the category extensions board, all bowling and showdown ILs will be retimed with milliseconds.
Milliseconds to other categories will be added in a future update, as we are still debating on how to handle them. (Wakebording is one of the sports extremely likely to receive milliseconds in the next update). Retiming runs takes time, so these changes will hopefully be carried out over the next week or so.
In the past, runs below a certain threshold could be submitted without video. Now, this system has been removed. All runs require video proof from now on.
It was found that there is a timing discrepancy for runs starting on Main Menu and those starting on Restart. To rectify this, main menu penalties (similar to the 3s penalty for runs starting from Restart) have been added to many sports.
All affected runs on the Base Categories and the Category Extensions have been retimed, so you may notice that the time of your existing personal bests may have increased by 1s.
You can find those penalties on the Game Rules section of the website. Here they are as well:
A 1s penalty will be added to runs that start from main menu and with: Duel, Speed Slice, Frisbee Dog, Archery, Pickup Game, Table Tennis - Match, Return Challenge, Bowling, 100-Pin, Spin Control, Canoeing (non-igt speedruns), or Cycling (non-igt speedruns).
A 1.25s penalty will be added to Swordplay Showdown runs that start from the main menu.
A 0.75s penalty will be added to Wakeboarding runs that start from the main menu.
A 1.5s penalty will be added to Skydiving runs that start from the main menu.
No penalties have been added to Golf, Frisbee Golf, 3-Point Contest, or Power Cruising
Beat All Champions - New Game, formerly found in the Category Extensions leaderboard, can now be found in the main leaderboard under the Beat the Champion categories. In this category you have to best the 4 champions in one run. It's a tough run to complete, but also a very skillful and fun one. With this change, there is no better time to attempt this challenge !
Hi all, the Resort Mod Team has decided to add variables in Cycling to differentiate runs done in 6,3, and 1-Stage Mode. Using 6-Stage can give runners a slight advantage when it comes to drafting behind Miis throughout the entire stage, thus prompting this minor change. Variables will be added to existing runs over the next few days. Now is the time to dust off the bicycle and get some PBs in Cycling!
The category All Pro Class has been moved from the Miscellaneous section to the main categories. It can now be found between All Categories and Beat the Champion
