I think there can be many different ideas behind leaderboards on SRC. In my opinion, the idea behind the CE board for SMB3 is to let runners of the game try different challenges than they face doing the main categories, and to just have fun trying something different as a break from the regular grind. By its nature, the CE board categories are going to have fewer runners, and that’s fine.
When it comes to IL runs, they may be something the community is interested in — though I don’t have that impression at all — but we in the CE moderator team are not willing to do the very tedious work of verifying such runs.
However, if you think this is really something that would interest a lot of runners, then you can request that SRC create an IL leaderboard for SMB3. Reach out to people you know in the community who you think are interested in moderating such a leaderboard, and ask if they’re willing to help you out with run verification.
We will not add IL runs to the CE leaderboard.
Hey guys!
After a conversation in a stream this weekend I had the idea for a new category extension, Any% All Secret Exits (no wrong warp). Basically you have to get all the devintended secret exits, that is 1-3, 1-f, 3-7 and 5-1 + for spicyness the Japanese exit in 4-5. If anyone else thinks this sounds fun, give it a go and do some runs. Maybe we can get it up on the leaderboard here.
Cloud: Skip 3-6 to go directly to 3-8. Skip 7-4 to go directly to 7-f1. Skip either 7-9, 7-f2 or 8f, depending on your strats / which of those you are least comfortable with.
P-wing: You will usually use p-wing for 7-f1. Other levels depend on how many you have in your inventory, but common p-wing levels are 6-9 and 7-6, but both of these are possible to clip to save time so p-wing isn’t essential. It is also good for beginners to use a p-wing for 7-2 until you learn some form of p-speed strat. I always use p-wing for 8-1 myself, though I’m trying to quit that habit :D
