Hi!
I just want to share some of my chat information that I collected when tested difference between CIS and ENG/EU versions of game (EU versions are English, German, Italy, Polish etc.; CIS version use russian language). You can add extra difference or said that something is not correct in comments:
-
CIS version was released in 2003; ENG/EU - in 2004 (source: Download Angels Vs Devils (Windows) - My Abandonware)
-
Target lock: CIS doesnt have, ENG/EU versions have it.
-
Belze and Gabriel solo campaing: CIS doesnt have, ENG/EU versions have it.
-
Hitboxes: in CIS - npc and items have smaller hitboxes than in EU versions.
-
Camera movement: CIS has better vertical movement of camera (probably related vith target lock).
-
Jumping: CIS version have worse move-after-jump movement (almost always after jump there is a recovery frames; related with high of jump - if you land on the same X-cooridnate as on the start of jump, there is recovery frames). It ruins run-and-jump movement strat that is possible in EU versions.
-
Invisibility: in CIS version even on Easy difficulties evemies will attack you agressively, in EU version it works better.
-
Wisps. In CIS version they extremely hard, they always fly high when you near them. In EU - they are so passive.
Will add details if find anything new. Feel free to add extra things in comments. Good luck!
Hi runner!
If you have any update on the current Patches Categories - full guide:
Bleak Faith: Forsaken - Guides - Speedrun.com
please share info in this theme. If it's significant, maybe we'll change categories.
Have a nice runs!
Hi speedrunners!
I've created the first ruleset for the Restricted Subcategory:
Bleak Faith: Forsaken - Guides - Speedrun.com
If you have any questions, or you think that some rules should be removed/changed - we can discuss it in this forum.
I want to list here all of my ideas of how to update this board to make it relevant to speedrun ideals and common things. Please review and let me know if you have any doubts about my updates, we can discuss anything

Trying to update Name of game to correct name "Bleak Faith: Forsaken"
-
Update logo (have a good picture)
-
Update category names (at least propcase them)
-
Change desing
Major Category rebuild

In during Jun-Aug 2024 there was big update of game that makes it more souls-like: iframes of invulnerability, removed parry, added "perfect block", changes stamina regen after perfect block, again ladder and claymore before Konrad were removed. So all speedruns that were performed on patch before major last patch is "old patch" speedrun and new patch is "current patch speedrun" (similar to Dark Souls 2, i guess). We can also identify the versions of game, e.g., Current patch is 15507154 (last patch after major August 2024 update), previous patch v4026544 (the best patch where there are ladder and rusty claymore before Konrad.
-
So all game categories will be "Current Patch" and "Old Patch". I saw on youtube run in 42 minutes on old patch but route is impossible on new patch.
-
All dummy/empty categories will be removed.
-
Main category will be "Any%"
-
I plan to leave "Konrad%" because it's madness that first boss in game has less than 25% of players who bit it - so even first boss is challenge :)
-
Definitely we need "all bosses" category
-
I'm not sure about another categories, because they look like levels - but they are not level, you anyway need to beat konrad. So we can add them as "Other" categories if we dont want to delete them
-
For future - we can add "no upgrade" category but game looks hard anyway, it can wait
I think we should update moderation rules for big drops
If game crashed in menu or before mission - that's ok, timeloss about 20-30 seconds looks minor.
But I had drops in the end of 5-6 minutes mission, late game mission - that's pure restart of run (and restrat every >1 hour run looks bad, worse kind of random).
I thought we can consider to calculate time of drop, add it in run submission and remove this time. E.g. in the last run of Gabriel I have:
49:15-52:06 - drop, 2 minutes, 51 seconds.
First timepoint - load screen of failed mission. Second timepoint - double click of game.exe.
I think we can ignore drops not during mission, it's bad but not so sad. I had drops on 6 minutes missions and on the last life of Belzepuz too, that's a real sadness.
If you agree, we can recalculate time of our runs. If not, I understand.
Hi there!
If you have any idea for this game/board - you are welcome ;)
