In case that is the intended functionality, why are non-supporters already able to see the circle around Supporter profile pictures?
As far as i can tell, they are supposed to be the visual hint that the User is a Supporter and therefore the popover is available on that particular user.
(For some reason the official thread is only available to supporters. IMO non-supporters should also be allowed to give feedback.)
My feedback: It simply doesn't work. Clicking on the name brings me to the profile. Clicking on the image does nothing. Can reproduce it on the latest stable and beta versions of firefox, chrome and edge on Win 10 and 11.
If that is the intended functionality for non-supporters, then that has not been communicated at all.
Other than that i can't really say anything about the feature other than that i'm saddened that we have yet another source of visual noise and CPU resource waste. On one of the PCs i regularly use, the site now uses 30% of my CPU when reading a news article. (Isolated usage by closing all other programs and comparing an empty tab to the Popover announcement news article.)
And as a person that already constantly struggles with visual noise thanks to ADHD and ASD, it's getting harder and harder to read anything on this website cause there is so much movement and blinking everywhere. I would have stopped using the site long ago if it weren't for Ad Blockers and CSS injection / Userscripts to remove those sources of noise.
I know it's been requested many times already but it would be nice to get a reply from an Elo Entertainment Inc. employee IF there are any plans to bring back that feature at any point in time.
Of course there is @Meta as a Community Manager but they are obviously only available during the times where they are awake and might not be available for a variety of other reasons.
I'm sure there are more than enough community members that keep up to date with the non-game specific forums and would be available to delete spam etc. given the necessary permissions and a ruleset on what action to take in what situation. And i'm sure many of these community members would even do that without any monetary compensation.

There's also a Discord button on this page, right below where the game name and platforms are ;)
Why would you want a bright green bar with a very off-center sr.c logo on a game cover? It's not like sr.c developed those games.
Also, I don't think the "Category extension" text will be readable at the size the covers are shown at. Maybe make that text bigger and choose a color that is distinguishable from the background.
Make a request for that on the Support Hub: https://www.speedrun.com/knowledgebase/supporthub Also, you should fix the URL, it should contain the name of the game or an abbreviation for it, not some youtube link.
Edit: @P1ZZAC4T has two more games where the URL needs fixing: https://www.speedrun.com/httpsen.m.wikipedia.orgwikiamerican_dragon_jake_long__attack_of_the_dark_dragon https://www.speedrun.com/httpsyoutu.bebyjzmxixdbk https://www.speedrun.com/httpsyoutu.beimrhtdhewig
Why is a 400x400 profile picture only being displayed in 100x100 on the forums? Reminder that the username badge of @1 is a 480x480px 1.3MB large gif that is displayed at 14x14 or 18x18px.
tbh, why not transcode all uploaded images to webp? According to caniuse it's supported by 97.03% of users and it offers better compression and has all the features of jpeg, png and gif. Transcoding also ensures that the images are efficiently compressed, metadata is stripped and you can create differently sized versions along the way. If elo is worried about the processing costs, just do it client side like many other platforms. @1's username badge resized to 18x18px and then converted to webp only takes up 6 KiB and looks exactly the same.
I've reported that issue in the site bugs section of the srcom discord in January and bumped that post again yesterday. Maybe something will come from it.
There is no way to sort them like that but you can click on the filters button and select a start and end date. The leaderboard then only shows runs that have a "played on" date that is between your chosen start and end dates.
I'd prefer to have a way to just sort them by the "played on", "verified on" or "submitted on" dates but for now that is only possible through the data you can get via the API.
How is it possible that that board has 23 Mods and only 1 run got verified in over a month? Some of the mods have not even a single verification on that board. Why are they not getting replaced if they are not interested in that board or don't have the necessary free time? Especially on a board with over 900 pending runs. (i'm aware OP should have posted in the mcce forum - but this seems like a systemic problem)
My suspicion is that it notifies it as a WR if it is the fastest run for that specific combination of run data. That would mean the first/fastest run of any day automatically becomes a WR for notifications since it's the only one with that specific combination of variables + date(+ maybe name?). So far that has been true for every run I've checked.
As someone that tried to get a leaderboard for an Idle Game (Melvor Idle) i can kind of relate since those games entirely consist of making choices. Personally i don't see the appeal but i also have never seen a (good) VN speedrun before. Do you have a recorded run we could take a look at?
Notifications seem to be coming back? Just got two of them. I just had the site not work at all for a few minutes so I guess they restarted someting.
I'm following 60 games and my last notification is from the start of December. Since there haven't even been stray notifs coming through, i guess they just turned off parts of the system and are rewriting it. Maybe they are even pulling it ahead of the rest of the leaderboards/moderation rework.
