Other question is, can we buy things from the GTN, or is that considered outside help?
I would be all for having the three categories like you said, it opens up more creative runs for those who have already farmed for years and want something to do, without being unfair to newer runners.
Btw, there's a way to essentially make a character, but send mail from another character before actually playing as the new character, keeping the play time at zero. There's always the time played check you could do with chat commands to see how long a specific character has been played/logged in as, if you wanted to time things that way, our include it as an extra variable.
A question for the 1-50 run. I know it says no outside help, but other than that, legacy based items/perks are fine, as long as everything only comes from your own account? Like, I could grab xp boosts or legacy items (like birthright weapon kit, etc) from legacy storage? Just want to make sure, before I start my 1-50 run today.
I was watching the recent 1-10 speedruns on the leaderboard, and tried to do some runs of my own, but for some reason I'm getting WAY less exp than the runners were. Just as an example, the klor'slugs in the starting area of korriban give me ~77xp, but the runners are getting ~193, which would be 2.5x as much. Does that mean that we can only match these times by waiting for another 250% exp event, or should there be a different category? Just seems a bummer that I can't match that time now that the event is over and get way less exp.
Small skip I found while trying to optimize the child/tutorial part of the game, saves about 15 seconds.
I'll be on the lookout for other times that you can die/fail at the right time to skip forward.
My psn is Visarionovik. Also, Blades has a Discord channel for us as well, if y'all want to gather there. You can add any of us in discord for the invite.
Yeah, you only need to do main quests. Splits are up to your own personal preference. They're only really useful for timing yourself, seeing what sections you're doing well in, etc. If you want, I can upload the splits I'll be using, to give you an idea of my below-average time sheet =P
Using the DLC items would have to be against the rules I think; they're too overpowered, it would be a huge unfair advantage for people without them. I guess there could be another category, with the dlc allowed/disallowed, if we wanted?
The ingame time marked on a save seems to add a few minutes from when you hit triangle to purge, and getting through the credits. Finished in 5:01 in real time, but the save a few minutes later reads 5:05.
Just want to clarify, since there can be a discrepancy between timers stopping at the triangle press, and ingame time.
Are we more likely to time based on actual play time, or IGT? Just wondering, since I'm getting some basic, relatively unplanned runs done, and want to know what time to mark them as.
There could be a sort of 100% in that you have to get all the weapons and armors, maybe? Like, all the outfits, all the weapons, and the ancient armor? That could be interesting, although a lot of things require luck of random drops, unless you buy things from the vendor in Meridian. Definitely looking forward to submitting for any% though, my brother and I both have the game around 5 hours so far, and it could definitely be optimized.
