I've been doing some researching and speedrunning on my own lately and have come to the realization we are likely going to be needing to split the Steam game from the freely available client.

As time's gone on, more and more of DF is being put into third party tools. These are likely not going to be in the premium release on steam, but a vast majority of players will be having whatever new first-party solution has been implemented. The f2p players will have not have their version of Dwarf Therapist, all the non-cheaty features from DF hack, etc.

To keep things fair, I will likely be implementing a new set of categories for the Premium version, that will be identical to the F2p leaderboards but using the Steam client.

I am looking forward to the release as I'm sure you all are, get ready to run those forts into the ground (literally) on the 6th!

I am trying my best to include any verbiage around removal of mods and DFhack/etc. and ideas we can incorporate to ensure theres no cheating happening.

I did a quick overhaul on the rules to try and make it as clear as possible. Please let me know what you think.

i did consider adding something in there about showing you unpacking the game into a clean folder every startup but that seemed silly at that point.

I am looking at modifying the rules to make things more clear. We would be removing the requirement for the taskbar/etc.. to make running it easier. But i would be adding text such that the game should be "stock" dwarf fortress with no mods outside of tileset (which would really only make your run slower).

I noticed in our current WR Fun% run we have drawing with a mouse for dig designation - which is a dfhack mod and not part of the stock game.

Congrats Knewster on the runs - what a horrific way to go for these poor dwarves. Watching them plummet into the magma sea is like watching an active trainwreck.

I think you are right about Hell%. It takes quite a lot of good RNG but if you get a good straight-down with the minimum height set, it could be done even faster than 3 minutes possibly.
