To be frank, I don't think we've had enough random category suggestion spam this month, which is why I'm here to propose a new category that V runners will find harder to resist than an excuse to stay seated in front of their computers. Darts is easily the best 15-20s of any 100% speedrun, despite what you may have heard, "it's totally cancer," or "I'd rather starve myself for 2 weeks than play darts," whoever said this clearly needs to be locked up in Broadmoor. Not a day goes by where I don't think about playing darts in GTAV, nor the spot it deserves on the leaderboard. My proposition is that darts will be made into a main category, as the true canon ending to V is the sweet taste of victory when you defeat a basic AI at a 10s game of darts, none of this main mission sequence or story nonsense is nearly as satisfying. Make your vote a 'yes' vote, and your reply as favorable as possible, the glorious darts category is counting on your support. A rumor I've heard is that oppositional people tend to end up misdiagnosed by psychiatric professionals with mental disorders that require permanent and thorough isolation from the rest of society for the duration of their lives, which makes it that much easier to just say yes to darts. Vote yes now to darts!
I actually got it wrong, everyone needs to resubmit runs they know to be non-NG+ if they want it on the regular columns, it's all on NG+ by default
If you use preplaced car with 2nd character or Director Mode menu on activities the run is considered NG+. If you're submitting runs with these you'll need to select NG+ variants. All ILs are being looked through right now by mods and added to normal Any%/Gold Medal if they don't use NG+, which is considerable work.
This leaderboard is for vanilla singleplayer, even gtamemes probably wouldn't accept some time trial-ish run like this when the rules are laid out to consistently start runs on Prologue or Franklin/Lamar autosave. This is kind of lame to be honest but you're welcome to keep track of your times with friends or something, like a custom race.
Any% is just the bare minimum 65 main missions, only Pulling Favors and Hotel Assassination are required side missions.
Bit of an improvement using Repossession to respawn and use Bullet/lose cops. Sucks the game doesn't track stores robbed as a stat as it does in Online, pain to verify I guess. The game does remember you robbed stores since it tells you it's closed due to being recently robbed, even after mission failing, the downside to mission failing is it restores the money you had at the start of Repo, but I guess it's more about robbing stores rather than keeping the money from it. One thing that can go wrong is reaching the next store too fast(store 2 for me), the cashier might not spawn and it doesn't let you press E to take money and c4 doesn't open the register, but it's only been that one so far so might be able to route around. I'd rather the start time be in agreement with misc. categories from V, starting at Franklin/Lamar to skip pointless waiting in Prologue.
You can stream the run, but you need to highlight it for submission so it isn't deleted. Any permanent video storage website(e.g. YouTube) works for a place to upload the run. You can stream or record, the run just needs to be a permanent video or highlight.
Since loadless is currently not supported, probably not
Currently the loadless timer is inaccurate, and manually timing all of the load screens and such is not something anybody wants to do.
Graphical settings have to be selected in-game, command lines are not part of the in-game menu obviously. Changing settings without going through the in-game menu would give a performance advantage over a comparable PC that plays at in-game minimum settings, thus not being a fair competition. While it does seem like an unfair limitation to someone with a struggling computer, there are unfair advantages with unofficial settings, such as very bright lighting due to lack of shadows where it would normally be dark, and abnormally bright nighttime shootouts. "No shadows" looks terrible as well, and wouldn't make watching the runs enjoyable to the audiences of speedrunners, so it makes sense to ban a slight advantage that sacrifices much of the game's visual quality. The use of frame limiting software was never banned because GTAV handles high FPS poorly, with 150+ causing major stutters, plus there was once an FPS cap implemented, so banning the software that was once required to submit a run would be foolish. Autohotkey scripts are only allowed if it's a 1:1 rebind, not too much of an advantage over in-game rebinds, it's also hard to ban keyboard software rebinds, for obvious reasons.
Not super optimized but here's the progress up to before 3-1, got set back a few days by the "take a break" text box messing things up. Sorry about the native resolution and lower quality. 1:12 for 1-1
Here's file select to 1-1, Not great, Citra's rerecording is still new, but this was really fun to optimize, I think it would make a great TAS, especially the later levels. There's no TASinput so I can't get perfect diagonals, only UDLR and combos of them with the hotkeys, so there's time to save. A proper frame counter instead of the file size thing, which doesn't update instantly, would be great. I'll keep working on this, 6 hours spent on 1-1 but it's getting easier.
