not that it matters much in this case because bro decided he was outta here but there does not need to be a leaderboard to do a speedrun. if enough people run the category, it'll probably get added to leaderboards eventually (can't say for every community, i'm not an AHAT runner, but that's the experience i've seen pretty much everywhere except for the site itself which decided geoguessr wasn't accepted onto the site for like 2 years despite having dozens of runs before being added finally)
wait you played v1 with a broken wrist? dude you're insane
Congrats!
@ThatOneGuy_nnn I'm good at it. Even though Sub 20 train is the hardest. If you pulled it off like 5 times, you might get the hang of it. It even cause your chance of completing sub 20 train from 10% to 70%. I'm the only person to pulled off sub 20 train a couple of time. Even NorXor. He tried to get the sub 20 train world record. But he always got the time of 18.433 or 18.400. Motorjam thinks sub 18 train is not possible. But he was wrong. Sub 18 is possible. I managed to make it 2 times. But one of it wasn't even on video. And because of that, now all the levels can be completed in under 18 seconds. The segmented run of it might come very soon. If you meant how did I get sub 20 train very consistently, I've been jumping on the large spikes like 5 to 25 attempts depending on rng.
Okay, fair enough - I honestly just wish I could use the site's layout as it's pretty convenient compared to a google doc but that's not happening if it's not getting accepted as a game. Oh well.
I know that I'm not the first one to request it but that thread is from 2 years ago and things change over that time. One of the first things I'm noticing is that there's mentions of making actual leaderboards and trying again later - which I included in the submission. It's also been denied for a completely different reason from the one in that thread - if they're denying it based on google maps or whatever, I'm fine with that - it's the speed and reason it's been denied that I'm annoyed about. If you're going to deny it for being a google maps game or it being submitted plenty of times and being rejected, don't deny it for being short/generic and not notable, deny it for being a google maps game or it being submitted plenty of times.
So, I submitted GeoGuessr to speedrun.com, fully expecting it to get denied but that's why I wrote like a couple paragraphs of text, with links to a google sheet and speedrunning videos, but it immediately gets denied within 2 minutes from being "short/generic and not notable". I know there's other reasons it could get denied but how would I get the mods to take a closer look past being denied within 2 minutes? I don't see how you can read/watch the links and the entire description within 2 minutes, I know the specific speedrun I submitted was very short but there's other categories as well.
Make sure you're on game time in splits.
