I know Kanis runs the game on a digital version on his X360. Guess thats more reliable than discs.
I do not see the problem with it as long as it is a official Nintendo licensed controller without turbo. Switching controllers itself seems to be hard as well, because I tried to plug in a second controller in the second port and it doesn't work. So you have to be very fast at swapping controllers. So if that goes wrong you might even lose time.
Thank you Rattokissa very much appreciated! <3
Hello guys!
I am planning to learn this game and according to Floatious Endy made a tutorial for Gremlins 2 for the Big 20 way back. Unfortunately Floatious nor I cannot find the tutorial anymore on Twitch/Youtube/BestofNES Discord.
Is there still a way to watch the tutorial Endy made or is it lost in the depths of the Internet?
Well if he used a emulator that was banned BEFORE he submitted I think the run should be removed. If the emulator was legal at the time it was submitted then I think it should be legal. Same goes about the inputs.
I think what Elipsis says is better. The top 10 times may constantly change, but something like a sub 4 wouldn't change.
Hello JTB! I know that Sony Vegas Pro has an option to add a timer.
I agree, there's no need for a required timer. A splicer who would take his/her time could easily fake a timer as well. Plus just like you said, there are better ways to check for splices.
Imho there shouldn't make exceptions to the rules for anyone, regardless of your time (so keep the timer rule and re-time it, OR get rid of it entirely).
If there has to be a timer, why doesn't he add a timer post-stream? That's like a few minutes of work (rendering is another story though). It doesn't specify in the rules that you cannot add a timer after the run.
There is a Ninja Gaiden Discord, but it is for every Ninja Gaiden, this includes NGB.
So here's my two cents on the subject.
It definitely looks suspicious but the thing which gives it away to me that this run might not be legit are:
- Super fast wall jumping, I've never seen anyone being this fast before
- Not hesitating AT ALL, when he/she was hesitating before a lot.
- The fighting game in the end suddenly + stopping is out of place and it feels like he/she is hiding something.
I also agree with Tarbash, from constantly slashing to never slashing is weird and it feels unnatural that there's such a sudden change to it. Forgetting to slash every now and then (if you're used to it) is normal, but from all the time to never slashing seems weird to me.
I think a few points made are not that strong though. Like the mashing being better once than other times, for instance I have the same. This game is super heavy for my wrists and sometimes I mash waaaaay better than other times. Also I think the 4-3 argument isn't that big of a deal. I change in strats all the time to see what is faster/better for me. You could say that it's not comparable between a run of my time (15:xx+) and a run like this, but I am pretty sure even higher level runners will try better strats every now and then to see if it's worth it.
Also I think Dave forgot that there are footswitches, so that way you can easily split immediately when there's a kill, if Sanaefroggy had such a device at the time the run happened is unknown for me, but it definitely should be taken in account.
Conclusion: I think this run is fabricated, although some of the evidence I find a bit weak it all adds up to the act.
I do not run this game (yet), but I agree with Kanis.
