I've had a few pokemon fights where I knew the damage ranges, so I knew the worst case scenario (which did sometimes even happend) would leave me with 1HP.
The other close call I had yesterday during a practice run for the game I'm starting with today: ICEY. Basically the main damageing move used for most of the game uses HP, but gives you a ton of iframes. What happend was that I killed the final boss at what seemed like 1HP. Would be rather unimpressive, but he was doing an attack that could've easily staggered me before I could press the B prompt to finish him off. Sadly don't have any video recording of that as I was supposed to be making the layout instead of playing for fun :'3
I've apparently turned into a part-time weeb with 2 rhythm games on their previously barely used phone. Also still playing games casually as usual, currently NFS:Hot Pursuit(2010), I still have quite a backlog of games to go through, which would be easier if I didn't bingewatch entire youtube channels all the time. I also did the mistake of going outside with the dog too much, so now that's officially my job as well... oh yeah and pixelart!
small feature suggestion: Gradient for the background of themes. Only requires a 2nd field and a tiny bit of code, but could make a nice difference. Preferrably with background-size:100% 100%;background-attachment:fixed;

apparently 22 is still young-ish, but I still have a ton of things I regret, mostly based on not having the confidence to speak up and I to this day am very bad at making decisions on my own and if I do it's often a knee jerk reaction type thing. Luckily I've managed to mostly beat my anger issues (I still can get quite angry at games, even if I try to keep myself in check and switch games or stop playing if it gets too much). One huge thing I regret is letting them (psychologist, my own, that overpayed doctor) assume that I cared about how tall (or not) I was. I was quite small, I likely would've stopped at 1.5m (4' 11"?). Honestly I'd be fine with that, if I instead got what I actually needed back then, but I'm still working on how to explain that publically. Nowadays I'm 1.72m tall (5' 8"?), have permanent, literally never-ending back pain and still am dealing with the same issues they should've seen all these years ago. Another thing I regret is not going to Canada to the one person I still cared for, even tho I couldn't even have known what terrible ideas fate was having the following summer...so now that's too late and I'm left recovering from the aftermath of depression and almost-suicide that situation left me in. That was about 5 years ago, also still hurts and I'm still blaming myself...
@Liv I'd love to include Mixer in my rants here, but I kept forgetting that I made an account there. Personally to me the most functional site would likely still be youtube, because it let's me archive streams as private (I'm just assuming that those vods wouldn't lose the chat log, comments do get disabled) in addtion to my higher quality local recordings that I use for highlights either way. YouTube also has lots of API possibilites that I could explore. Twitch's API is a mess, they still haven't fixed the embed player's missing js file. But if Mixer or the upcoming SteamTV want to put in the work of doing stuff better than twitch, I'm going to give them a try as well.
@Quivico I'm trying my best to think of what I'd lose if I switched to YTG right now immediatly, other than the extra work than entails, because I'd have to figure out streamlabs' stuff again and my bot would be useless until there's an update with YTG integration, which currently is not even being worked on. I can't really come up with anything in particular to be honest.
@ShikenNuggets
I think any serious streamer who wants to be successful and is already on Twitch
I actually watched a few VoDs on youtube for unrelated reasons (I bingewatch youtube too much in general and a series I started turned into a livestream project) and noticed that the mid tier popularity streamers on there also seem to be making quite a lot. One streamer even had a small group of people who'd donate/superchat literally every stream. Of course switching platforms basically means restarting from scratch while asking your viewerbase to jump ship, but for small streamers with no or not many regular viewers, that doesn't really matter.
Having a few annoying and unfortunate quirks really isn't going to change that.
I'm not sure about this still counting as a small quirk. I remember hearing something like "all benefits previously included in Twitch Turbo" when getting Prime and now Turbo is apparently back again, reason being something about wanting to help creators, but even back before Prime Turbo's ad-free had already counted as a viewed ad, therefore not losing creators anything at all. It just doesn't make sense and to me personally just sounds like a bad excuse, similar to the aftertaste that a lot of recent sub gift and bits related updates brought for me personally.
In the almost two years since we launched Twitch Prime, it’s been exciting to see so many members of the Twitch community take advantage of one of the best deals in gaming and use perks like monthly channel subscriptions to support streamers like you.
As we have continued to add value for your viewers with Twitch Prime, we have also re-evaluated some of the existing Twitch Prime benefits. As a result, universal ad-free viewing will no longer be part of Twitch Prime for new members, starting on September 14. Twitch Prime members with monthly subscriptions will keep ad-free viewing until October 15. Members who already have annual subscriptions, or who upgrade to annual subscriptions before September 14, will continue with ad-free viewing until their next renewal date.
All other Twitch Prime benefits, like monthly channel subs, monthly games and loot, chat badges are not changing, and Twitch viewers can still get ad-free viewing across all channels by subscribing to Twitch Turbo (read about Turbo right here).
As a Twitch creator, we know you get a lot of questions from your community when changes happen on Twitch. We want to equip you with as much information as we can about this change to Prime benefits.

So this is a thing that happend? I already gave me opinion in rant form here: https://old.reddit.com/r/Twitch/comments/98wghf/sitewide_adfree_viewing_removed_from_twitch_prime/e4j88f3/
So does this change anyone's mind on using twitch for streaming? Personally I'm considering giving SteamTV a try, should that actually become a proper streaming platform. Either way, I'll be canceling Amazon Prime and not giving Twitch any more money than needed (some people deserve their subscriptions, even if I have to use paypal for that now).

I actually don't remember how I found this site, probably either when I was casually messing around with Fire Emblem Awakening or through SGDQ2013/PokemonSpeedruns later on. Still here, because I didn't find a reason to leave and I like having a place to browse for games I might try running at some point.
the reason your name glitches out if you apply a gradient is that 1 character can only have one color, so the thing gives each letter a different color based on some math, but that math gets very confused if there's only one letter.
the button to delete games is at the top right in the "Edit Game" menu.
it looks like it'd be a bit trickier with how the site currently works (it seems to load in leaderboards as needed, instead of when the site is initially loaded), so that'd either need to be done differently or a little script would need to be written to it automatically switches to the correct tab as soon as possible. It's a good idea tho, I've had my fair share of problems with values (the subcategory tabs) in the past, especially with Diablo 3.
@R0main what is wrong with longer links when no working links exist currently?
I check with the inspect tool, there seems to be an additonal <span> element inside the one for the username that's overriding the regular color setting to #000000. I double checked @UbuntuJackson's, does not have this additional <span>. No clue how that ends up there tho. I have a bunch due to the gradient setting
What's the point of this complaint topic?
These people are complaining about their request getting rejected, I'm complaining about redundant and repeating spam on this very website. Isn't that point enough?
1. You can't stop users from posting on the forums.
No I can't, but I still have the right to ask people not to repeat the literally exact same question multiple times every day.
It's a forum, people are gonna post in it
And so will I, whenever I feel like it.
There's like 10 threads in the recent ones here, literall all about a game not being notable. I get it it you want a leaderboard, go learn how to use Google Spreadsheet and Google Forms and make one yourself if you think your game is worth it. But can we please stop flooding this subforum with threads about single games not getting accepted on here, we already had this debate hundreds of times before the flashgame rule change, why are we still doing this?
for SPT in particular y_spt_pause is set to 1, so that can be checked, idk if demos save timestamps upon ending and starting recordings, but if you're games starts paused you have to also unpause it, another thing possible to track in the console.
I didn't really know what to do for subbadges, so I just took the M of the new logo I recently made and recolored that to bronze, silver and gold. I currently switch games too often to have the subbadge represent any sort of ingame things and I don't really have a mascot currently, trying to get rid of how to I put my umbreon emote onto literally everything, but comissions for a new profile pic would be expensive and I sadly never learned drawing other than some basic pixelart :\
