actions speak louder than words softlock Alt tabbing, all buttons, changing graphics, vsync, nothing helped.
Well, as I said, nowhere is it stated that it's not allowed. If you're locally hosting (map _ in console) it doesn't require sv_cheats. Nothing does.
No, they're votes. It literally says 'callvote' in the command.
Instantly changing (z_difficulty) is... not disallowed. No rule on this. Why is this allowed?
But it is true.
Requirements are listed here: http://www.speedrunslive.com/news/announcement-13-11-14/
○ Having your stream set via .setstream in #speedrunslive on IRC, ○ One hour of total race time (per account lifetime), AND ○ Visiting the site while logged in OR joining the #speedrunslive channel while being identified on IRC (each month).
I'm pretty sure I'm the only person against difficulty merging, and I'm not even going to run any LMoE, so you might as well do it.
Also, please remove as many of these stupid misc. categories for the full-game leaderboard. Main campaigns/all campaigns bhop LMOE easy/expert should be removed until there's at least 2 runs.
Plus, Mains -> Main
It's only security issues fixed, so replacing sounds fine to me.
too many categories fkn cloggin up my shit
nobody will run bhop shit main or all campaigns
I compared the two in certain locations where you have to wait for dialogue. English was faster in all four.
Uprising at Chang'an Intro: Diaochan, Dong Zhuo, Lu Bu, Private, Diaochan, Wang Yun English ~44 seconds Japanese ~50 seconds
Uprising at Chang'an Bridge: Zhang Liao (x2), Lu Bu, Messenger, Dong Zhuo, Wang Yun (x2), Dong Zhuo English ~56 seconds Japanese ~63 seconds
Capture of Puyang Intro: Lu Bu, Chen Gong, Lu Bu, Chen Gong, Zhang Miao English ~42 seconds Japanese ~50 seconds
Battle of Dingtao Escape: Xiahou Yuan, Chen Gong (x2), Lu Bu, Chen Gong, Xun Yu English ~48 seconds Japanese ~59 seconds
And then I grew tired of comparing and I'll just assume English will be faster in most, if not all, the other cases.
Reviving this to ask that the rules clarify that besides OoB, horse clips too are banned, rather than solely out of bounds aspect, as not all clips are OoB.
Certain gates can be clipped through 'consistently' (any gate is clippable if RNG wills it), the biggest example being the gate to Cao Cao's area in Showdown at Xiapi in Lu Bu's historical route. This skips the entire map.
...unless they're allowed? pls no
I WILL NOT STAND FOR THIS BULLYING, I HAVE ALERTED THE CYBER POLICE, YOUNG MAN. I am also pretty blind, yeah. But there really is no point in having Steam closed, it's not 'better' to do so, pls.
You don't have to close Steam; you'll just have to restart Steam if you want to play any other game after having opened 2.0.0.8.
I'm planning to run Lu Bu's (and later Wu's) hypothetical route soon. Would be cool if they could be added to the leaderboard. I guess both regular and No OoB can be added, though I'm not sure if anyone (read: Naoremonth) is going to run this. I'm only doing going to do No OoB. We've really gotta recruit some DW8 speedrunners Kappa
The difference is that L4D2 is played through separate campaigns. You get booted to the lobby if you don't use changelevel votes. Sure, if you were to load a single level in a different version, that's 100% bullshit, but an entire campaign I see no problem with whatsoever.
And I disagree that not everybody has access to the 2.0.0.8 version; all you have to do is ask or google it (the latter being quite a pain, though). Hard-drive space is irrelevant to speedrunning.
Until a version with all campaigns is found, this method should be allowed and accepted.
I don't even know why I'm trying to argue for this, since I will never even run all campaigns ever again holy shit no way.
The fact that DLC barely gives an advantage is even more of a reason not to disallow it.
The 5-star weapons start off with about 2-4 more base damage than the vanilla 5-star. There are also various new types (which I doubt you'd use, since you will probably want to go for EX + throwing knives).
Isn't the purpose of speedrunning to go fast? What's the point in disallowing basically every trick the game has, as that is the only thing being restricted to the steam version does. Seems abysmally stupid to me, to be honest.
It is the same game. Different version does not mean a different game. And I don't see how it is unfair or to whom it could possibly be so. If it's unfair to those who don't have v2.0.0.8, disallow it completely, then. Maybe it's unfair to previous run(ners)? New strats are found all the time, that's not considered unfair either. This is just that, really.
(p.s. fuck all campaigns worst category)
