The reason we don't accept the extension version is that it doesn't use the same code as the original game. It's been modified slightly and may give people an unfair advantage. The versions we accept have all been verified to use exactly the same game code as the original version of the game.
The smaller categories were removed because they are not competitive and are subject to things like lag abuse. There are several other forum posts that discuss this topic.
Unfortunately, displaying touches is one of the only safeguards that we have against people cheating with touchscreen runs. As you can see from the previous comments people were using keyboards attached to mobile devices and trying to pass them off as touch input runs. While it's easy to display touches on android, there is no built-in feature for IOS. The best solution is to have a second camera filming the touches as you play the game. I completely understand that this really inconvenient, and as a result there only a handful of people who actively run in this category. Hopefully, Apple will add this feature some time in the future, but I've been waiting 2 years and I'm not holding my breath.
Yeah, I have got to the 131072 tile twice, but that requires saves and undos. I am talking about getting to 16384 in a standard game without being about to undo mistakes.
Hey guys. I'm new to the community, only discovered that speedrunning was a thing recently and decided to give 2048 a crack because I've been playing for years. I have always tried to build bigger numbers past 2048 rather than going for speed. After playing for 5 years I made it to the 16384 tile for the first time a few weeks ago. Seems like bad tile spawns always ended my runs. I'm hoping to grind out some recorded runs and be the first to post a time for 16384, but since it took me so long the first time I'm not sure if I'll make it again. Has anyone else ever been to the 16384 tile?
