I'm currently in the process of routing 100% and I just want to make sure I've found everything. By my count, there are: 11 Gems, 27 Endurance Fruits, 2 Jump Fruits, 40 creatures to kill, and 11 collectible items including the sword at the end, the mushroom and the pearl. If someone else could confirm this, I'd appreciate it.
So there's a couple of things to bring up in this thread.
First, since things got screwed up a bit by the roll-back at the start of this month, I'd like to reiterate SmashEBrada's request to have Legendary Swords added as an island.
Second, for whatever reason, Poptropica has changed the island layout again, so as long as we're updating the pages to add Legendary Swords, I think we should redo them completely in coordination with the new layout.
Finally, I'd like to (re?)open a discussion as to whether the 10% and 90% rules should be rewritten, and perhaps renamed, to reflect the current list of Membership & non-membership islands, especially if we'll be changing the page run rules to reflect this as well.
Can we get Reset Skip & No Reset Skip boards for Survival Island? It's possible to save the night vision goggles in Episode 4 as a costume and use that to obtain them (Same as the bunny ears in 24 Carrot). If you need video proof I'll be recording a run later.
This is a small skip at the beginning of the game (before you throw yourself off the cliff). Video here: It's possible to skip collecting the endurance fruit in the dwarven area, and climb the wall to the right without it. This requires you to jump off the ledges fairly quickly after grabbing them. It's not quite frame perfect, but close to it.
So I was doing a run of Game Show Island and got up to Scaredy Pants. For some reason, when I finished round 1, the display said, round 2 complete, and went straight into round 3. I'll get the video of this up as soon as I can, but I wanna know if anyone's seen this before.
So I found a game breaker playing casually and got a recording of it. I'm not certain how, but this gets the enemies to freeze in place. This unfortunately is worthless because the final boss and knights you fight after flooding the castle lose their hitboxes, stopping your progress.
Due to lack of gaming systems, I'm mostly a web/PC gamer right now. But I'd still really like to try some of the classic Mario games (New Super Mario Bros, SMW, SM64, etc), and I know that emulators are allowed for most of these. So are there any emulators that get used frequently or seem to be better than the others? Thanks in advance.
Create an account on speedrun.com and start speedrunning of course. What else?
Hi, I'm Lieutenant Boo. I'm not much of a gamer, but I'm really big on web and browser games. I've gotten really interested in speedrunning after watching a number of iconic Mario franchise speedrunners. Shoutouts to SimpleFlips and Nathaniel Bandy. I figured I'd make an account and do some speedruns. As I said, I'm not really a gamer, so I'll be sticking to the web games. Since I don't come with any particular skill in speedrunning, I was going to call myself Feigned_Competence, but it wasn't fun enough.
Anyway, I've got a speedrun lined up already, and I'll have several more over the next few days. Wish me luck, and best of luck to you.
